That's very cool. I'm newsing it.

Can you say which mission he was found on give some details of the encounter?

Is there roaming ambient life fairly often, and just this one time a little Diablo was found? Or is the sighting entirely out of the ordinary?

The mission is called "The Devil's Playground" (lol) and there wasn't any other Diablo-related stuff, as far as I could tell. The mission took place on a volcanic planet, and lava covered lower areas every few minutes or so. There were some critters, trying to get away from it. I didn't notice anything else, except that he might have attacked my SCVs, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll replay the mission to get an achievement and I'll post other details if I've missed anything.

He doesn't attack. The area around him gets flooded with lava and that's what killed my SCV. There only was one Diablo.

If you guys want to see him larger here's an image:

I just went into the map editor and opened the map, edited the character "Lord of Terror, Diablo (spacediablo). in the data to make him larger"

He's a critter, but you can edit all kinda stuff in there and make him attack, even add a hellion attack to make him shoot fire.

Alright, they kinda reciclated their old Diablo model they added for a Warcraft 3 racing map (at least it seems they use pretty much the same texture):

    Just look at their faces

Did you see mini Diablo (pet) in WoW ? It looks the same also. It's simply a mini cartoony version of D2 model...

In fact i like D1 model much more. He was like the Devil in D1 (more humanoid). In D2, he looks like a lizard type demon.

In D3 concept art he (or she) looks like a fragile female demon. If they actually consider modelling that concept art into the game, then i can say for sure, they're out of mind.

Lizard? I always associated him with a doggy for some reason. Must be his charging animation.

No, it's pretty much only you who's out of his mind.

PS: Feminine. Not feminine. Wonder which is better. ;)

Funny, my wife always refers to Diablo as "the Demon-Puppy". :) I think it is because of the charging animation.

Little known fact: One of the main influences on the D2 version of Diablo was... the Godzilla in the Godzilla 2000 remake. Who was a mutated iguana. Hence the more quadrupedal movement and posture.
