Unless you're a melee sorc, I see no real reason to use Stormshield. You really shouldn't be getting close enough to be getting hit a lot.

You don't teleport/rush? Unless you're hacking it's pretty hard to avoid winding up in the middle of some monsters.

I've had good luck with Stormshield.

This next sorceress I'm making will use the Spirit Monarch. After I play that for a while I'll know if it really is worth dumping the almighty blockers.

Even then, I think my sorc (who uses Spirit) has only died when I teleported right into the middle of a pack of cursed and might aura'd Gorebellies.

Once is enough for a Hardcore character. :jig:

That's not to say I haven't taken damage with my block setups. I just haven't killed any once they're past level 65(last one had a huge wireless mouse/keyboard doom).

Still, the point isn't that you're not getting within range of monsters. Let alone, if you play on the realms that desynch and lag can make that monster appear a screen away to right in front of you in a blink.

Spirit does have massive FHR to help you get away, and 25-35%FCR making it stupid easy to hit 105%FCR, which I think is a must if you're going without blocking.
