    Speaking of China...

they can now control the weather! How cool is that? I wonder when the other world scientific superpowers will learn this? Will the bad Chinese share their new intelligence with others? Maybe they'll be building bases on the moon next to help control weather worldwide. They could bring the world to it's collective knees with this power.

Actually former Soviet Union used chemicals to get rid of clouds during important events. Those chemicals were delivered from airplanes instead of rockets.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I've heard.

I have heard that too. No idea if it actually worked though. Haven't they tried seeding clouds for ages? I recollect that it doesn't really work. So why are the Chinese spending all this money on something as frivolous as this? That was my point.

Well, Chinese are all about appearances and of course they want to show the best of them to the world. I don't know if anybody remembers the world championships at Helsinki couple of years ago. It rained all the time, some newspapers gave Helsinki a new alias: "Hellsinki".

They seed clouds in Missouri and Kansas from time to time, I bet Iowa does it too. It works if the clouds are fairly dense already, just not dark rain clouds. It doesn't make a clear bright sunny day turn into a monsoon though.

And the Chinese are trying to turn a monsoon into a clear bright sunny day.

They've had these plans for a few years now.

Too bad they don't actually care about reducing smog for real, just appearances...

Need to solve a problem, shoot a missile at it, good old China.

What did they expect? A tropical paradise?

    So then it could work.

Gotta love the hegemonic mind control theories. I saw an extensive grid of contrails in the sky a few months ago. I just thought it looked interesting. I certainly didn't conjure up ideas of biological warfare.

It's easy to get sucked into - you see so many more and different contrails now than you ever did in the past....

And people never seem to think about the increased commercial and transportation traffic as a reason for that...

So the athletes don't suffocate to death when they get to China. Not that China cares about the athletes. Its so people don't stop trading with them.

I had heard that China was trying to use the weather to reduce its smog (LOL). Thats kinda like trying to move the sun by blowing on it TBH.

As for your actual question, China has spent a lot of money to get the Olympics to their country (bribing the Olympic committee for instance(either that or the committee is run by idiots(probably the latter))) so that people will start to notice them (not that people don't already thanks to the numerous counterfeits and obvious health hazards that come from there).
