Song(s) of the week (5/10/05)

I've been so meticulous with my music collection lately. Went through all 7000+ songs and made sure all track/album/artwork info was correct. Then went back through and adjusted all the genres to be more appropriate (up to 73 genres now). Next pass is to adjust ratings on all the songs I've listened to. I'm insane...or just obsessed.

Fatboy Slim - Love Island
Jimmy Eat World - Futures
Wax - Jiffy Boy
Jet - Sgt. Major
Guns N' Roses - Sympathy For The Devil (Rolling Stones cover...AWESOME)

Ain't it great?

Been finally giving OK Computer a real chance this week. A good decision, if I do say so myself.

Radiohead - Airbag
Radiohead - Paranoid Android
Radiohead - No Surprises
Radiohead - Fitter Happier
Armor for Sleep - Stay on the Ground
Armor for Sleep - Remember to Feel Real
Black Eyes - Deformative
The Arcade Fire - In the Backseat
Eluvium - There Wasn't Anything

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly. What a good lyric.

great choices Lostprophet. You cant go wrong with Radiohead. if that's the first album you've listened to you're in for quite a surprise when you listen to the rest of their stuff. Music doesnt get any better than Radiohead imo

Nah man, just my most recent. I went Theif/Amnesiac/Kid A/OK Comp. Backwahd.

Also, is the new Ben Folds album good times? I almost bought it the other day, but had promised myself to get the Armor for Sleep disc.

The entire new Fall Out Boy CD, From Under the Cork Tree. I could go through all the songs, but there's just too many. XO is the one I'm listening to the most right now.

Other than that:

Sage Francis - Crack Pipes
Immortal Technique - Dominant Species
Senses Fail - You're Cute When You Scream

Haha, interesting method of listening to them. I myself listened to the albums in the order of OK computer, Amnesiac, Pablo Honey, Kid A, The Bends, Hail to the Theif, and some of their more rare stuff along the way. I also have made a CD of unreleased songs which I like very much. It's something like 22 tracks of songs spanning their career (or at least pre-Pablo Honey through Kid A). If you're interested, I'd be happy to make it available one way or another. BitTorrents, other PsP stuff, or what have you.

As for the new Ben Folds album, it has a different feel to it than his previous works, especially the Rockin' the Suburbs. It's more of a mellow less pop-like album. Some people like it very much and some dont. I for one enjoy it just as much as any of his other stuff. You can check out the amazon.com reviews here or as I would advise, just give the CD a listen, and judge for yourself.
