Someone messed up

so i was thinking about the whole war in iraq thing right.
Sept 9/11 - a bunch of mainly Saudi Arabians terrorists fly a plane into the twin towers.

Gearge Bush - decides to invade iraq.

Terrorists - from saudi arabia, based in afghanistan.

George Bush - deploys some army personell in Afghanistan - less army personel than the police force of manhattan.

Why did he invade iraq again? - oh, to get those weapons of mass destruction from saddam. - (the same ones that America gave to saddam to fight the Iranians in the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988)

apparently they "could not afford to allow Iraq to lose the war to Iran", and "would do whatever was necessary and legal to prevent Iraq from losing the war with Iran." - Ronald Reagan.

So they did what any sensable friend would do. they gave iraq biological, chemical and nuclear precursor technology.

But whoops, saddam wasnt keen on locking it away in case of emergency, so the USA had to invade.

-meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is still best friends with the US (regardless of the fact that Amnesty International categorises Saudi Arabia as a human rights viloator for torturing etc) because it provides most of their oil and has invested 860 billion in the USA economy, almost 7% of Americas economy.

-Im so glad im not an American right now. :p

In 2004, the NYPD had over 40,000 police personel. That is an entire corps. What purpose could we possibly have for that many people over there? That's more than died at Normandy. What we sent was enough to win, and that is all that matters.

Saudi Arabia does not provide most (more than 50%) of the U.S.'s oil.
i meant it is the country that provides most in relation to all other countries.
-30-35%

America sent less than 40,000 men to afghanistan, which is where the main source of terrorism is. the training camps, funding, senior ranking officers etc.

i do understand what GDP is. does no one find it a little bit strange that a country like Saudi Arabia has such major interests in the US when the US is supposedly a "world police" sort of country? with so much money coming in from the saudi's its no wonder Bush didnt immediately launch a political campaign against them.

Because of fears that revolutionary Iran would defeat Iraq and export its Islamic Revolution to other Middle Eastern nations, the U.S. began giving aid to Iraq. From 1983 to 1990, the U.S. government approved around $200 million in arms sales to Iraq

Its really easy to look back and judge the actions of the previous administrations now, but back then, they probably thought they were helping the middle east, even if they actually were not.

Iran, Chechnya, Sri Lanka, Libya, Syria, Pakistan etc...
how is Afghanistan the main source again?

When do you want to invade Dubai? Not all were Saudi's.

the same ones that America gave to saddam to fight the Iranians in the Iran-Iraq war
And they'd do it again. Iran has been the largest supporter of international terror over the past 30 years.

does everyone who posts their opinion on world events as they see them get their arguments pulled apart or is it just me.
When you have so many strings to pull, people pull. Making completely inaccurate statements is not going to help your cause.

The truth is, I'm against the war in Iraq as I think it was a misguided policy and took attention away from the more valuable battle "Afganistan". Turning it into an ally and having it bordering Iran and Pakistan (the worlds 2 biggest dangers) as well as Central Asia would have been the greatest foreign policy accomplishment the U.S. could have made. However your reasoning/thought/ideas on the issue are often inaccurate and certainly misleading in many cases.
