somebody tried to steal my hellforge

i was killing meph, and some sorc jumps in. he helps me to kill meph, and then we go to a4. he immediately goes to river wp. i ask for the wp, and he says "sure." then, suddenly:

Sorc is killed by Hephasto.

Then, he tries to keep me in the game. I immediately quit. I wasn't sure if he would get my reward if i stayed in town, but i wasn't planning on finding out.

I make a new game, and hephasto spawns immune to all my attacks. I have to bring in my ik barb to kill him.

Considering that the hellforge only drops one rune per party NEVER do the forge with anyone else unless it is a "trusted friend".

Hmmm. Do you think he was trying to pretend to have been killed? If so, wouldn't you be able to see his life bulb on the top of your screen? Or if he unpartied to be able to pretend death, wouldn't you be excluded from the quest anyway?

I don't doubt what you say. I just don't see this scam working, really.

When someone in party is doing hellforge it will show quest and say hit hammer on thing and all that.So you have plenty of time to leave party.then when he does it, it will say cant complete quest in this game. so if hellforge pops up in quest like their about to do it then just leave party :thumbsup: .

Forget that. Never do forge while you're in a party unless the other party members already have it.

You can help your trusted friend and unparty and then he can help you.

IIRC you also get exactly one pgem per party.

i got a solid hel from my hell hellforge at least a pruby came with it. Where can i find odds of what hellforge will drop?

nah not necesary here is what happened, the sorc tried to solo Hephasto and was too lame, with another memebr in the party standing in town the sorc would get all 10 items dropped, pretty lame tho since there's only one rune, but yeah it would prevent Superhal from getting his due reward.

Somebody did this crap to my Hammerdin, I was sooo friggin ticked. Really *un*luck actually, I was doing Izzy, and I found Izzy about the same time that this chump killed Hephasto. So...the little "Quest Box" pops up, I think, oh look, thats Mr. Izual, there he is. I quickly X out the window, and continue to kill Izzy. Then I go to town, and check my inv. No soulstone. Noooooooooooooooooo!

I am not sure but I doubt she (sorc) would be able to pick up Hellforge Hammer if she hade done this quest before.... And if she hadn´t - what would be mening to kid you??? - In this case she could do this quest alone - no need for thefts. May be she belived that she will get 2 runes... In this case she would be both thief and noob :teeth:

That's right, you cannot pick up the hammer if you already solved the quest, so either the sorc just killed him for MF or she actually hasn't solved HF as well and did it out of ignorance, lack of knowledge or malice. Everything is possible in bnet...
