    Some questions about Thorns

Got a few questions, pvp oriented, about the thorns aura.

When it says it has % damage returned, how does that end up in pvp?

Counting pvp penalties, if you get struck by an opponent doing 1000 dmg, the pvp penalty makes you take 1000/6 = ~167dmg, right?
Now, assume a thorns aura of slvl20 (1010% damage returned). How much damage will the opponent take? Is the returned damage once again affected by pvp penalty, and he takes 1000/36 dmg? Am I right, or do I miss something?

Also, items/whatever that give %dr, does those affect the damage returned (ie: does opponents take more damage hitting someone with no %dr than one with 50%dr?)
Same question for plain "damage reduced by xx" too.

Returned damage is affacted by PvP penalty IIRC, but it can still be pretty high. Melee damage tends to be higher than just 1k. 167dmg x 1010% ~1680dmg which is then run through pvp penalty again. Now if this was 10k damage, your opponent would take serious damage.

However, I think %dr items is the thing that makes thorns unpopular, since it cuts it to 1/4 again.

Yes, I know. But chars like zealots/furydruids/similar dish out lots of damage and also lock themselves up in a series of hits. Might take advantage of that, with another fun build...
I have some weird idea of revisiting the famous Brickadin, boosting him with %dr and dr, maxing out prayer and use insight to get life regeneration up, then combine it all with thorns.
Oh, btw. Does the damage return thingy also happen if you block?

AFAIK, thorns only works with damage TAKEN. So here's what all will reduce thorns' power:

1/6 PVP penalty for their attack
Your chance to block (which would cancel the return altogether)
Your DR (both % and straight)
1/10 PVP penalty for the returned damage
    Their DR

So imagine the enemy does 10K damage.
1/6 PVP attack damage: 1667 damage
50% DR on you: 833 damage
    Level 50 thorns (2210% damage returned) : 18416
1/10 PVP return damage: 1842 damage
Their 50% DR: 921 total damage returned

So that's less than 1K damage returned for every 10K attack, assuming you can even get thorns to level 50...

*EDIT: Thanks for noting that, Leohappy.
