Some barb questions: AR, Def, synergies etc.
Before I ask you about a few problems I'll shortly describe my barb build plan.
Currently at slvl 79 and got:
Max frenzy
Max dual swing (synergy to frenzy)
Max BO (of course)
1 shout (seems enough with +skills)
1 BC (needs no explanation)
Max sword mastery (I'm using sword-class weapons)
1 iron skin (90% extra def with +skills, and pre-req for natural res)
1 natural res (enough for max res in hell)
some undistributed points
Str/Dex enough for swords, rest into vita, some undistributed points.
Vampiregaze 'Ort' (for dual leech, ort for max lightning res in hell)
Full disciple
Full bul kathos' set (2 swords)
Ravenfrost
Rare ring /w LL (soon to be replaced with crafted blood ring)
5,2K def, res max all, 7K AR, dmg ~2K (still to be synergized + HUGE bonuses against the undead and demons, so actually I do much more most of the time)
Let's get to the point:
1. I have horrible problems with hitting tough monsters in hell. In act5 hell I only get about 60%-70% CTH. I only have 7K AR with Frenzy. I see some possible solutions, though none of them are really good:
a) More dex. Quite a point waste 'cuz I won't need it for block and it doesn't give me much AR.
b) Blessed Aim merc. Would give tons 'o AR, but I think I'll really need extra defence, so Defiance merc could really be better.
c) Ignore the AR issues and wait until I'm higher level, so that my CTH will increase even if AR stays at 7K.
d) Helm with +x% AR. This could be a good solution, though I would need a suggestion for a helm here.
2. While the res max all keeps me safe from elemental damage, I'm hit way too often and I can't block because I am using 2 weapons. I would need to improve defence:
a) Defiance merc. Gives a HUGE defence boost, and because I have nice gear (reaper's, smoke and stealskull) for him, he would be very tough too. Seems the best solution by far, though maybe blessed aim would be more needed?
b) More Shout. Would give more def, but I'll need my precious skill points to synergize Frenzy /w Taunt...
c) Alternate headgear with BIG defence. Need a suggestion of such an item here...
3. I got some unuzed Larzuk quest rewards. My first guess would be to put shaels in the BK swords, but I fear that I might overkill with IAS in this way:
~45% frenzy
20% big BK sword
20% small BK sword
With shaels:
~45% frenzy
40% big BK sword
40% small BK sword
So, would that much IAS be overkill, or should I go ahead and shael 'em up?
4. Is more strength worth it? 1 point into strength would give about 1.75 max dmg from big BK sword and about 1.5 max dmg from small BK sword. Is it worth it, or should I put more points into vita instead?
