solo hell? OK is thier any build that can basicly solo hell or do it with little help??? I mean I love d2 and all but i dont like not being able to solo hell cuz i really dont like Playing with other peeps who will PK yiu and steal your drops and other stuff so if u can help me i would be extremely thankful :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Oh and sorry for the bad grammer im kind of in a rush :flip: :lol:
Yes, there are many builds that can take hell by themselves. Check the individual Character forums for the popular builds.
Namely the paladin or necro forums. Both hammerdin and skellimancer have the least immunity problems, and can make it quite easily in singleplay - or BNET play for that matter.
I soloed my hammerdin from normal act 1 to Hell act 5. I did all quests and got all waypoints except Nilathak act 5 hell and the corresponding waypoint and horadric cube nightmare and hell. The maggot lair was a little painful, I admit, but he hasn't died there. I don't consider myself to be a skillful player or extremely rich, so I hope nobody thinks I'm just bragging. It just is as it is. OK, he got a shako, HoZ etc. but nothing like HotO or Enigma. I guess it's not that difficult to do the same only with stuff he finds himself.
Hammerdins can make it thru hell with gear only found by himself no problem. It is very easy. Same thing with Skelemancer. Way too easy. These two builds are overpowered.
I agree. Basically a build with high dmg and no problem with dealing with the various immunities on monsters allows you to solo in hell. Hammerdin and Skelemancer are definately top of the list. -Backdoor Bandit
FWIW, my policy is to solo all quests myself initially. So far I've done it with a Skellymancer, Frenzy Barb and a Nova / Skelly necro. Currently working on a Boner Necro and he should be no problems. Summoner's and poison necros are not a lot of fun in the maggot lair. Your merc is the boss here. CE also helps.
I've almost soloed hell with my hammerdin, I just have to go kill Baal yet. Right now I working on perfecting my build, I just need those couple of items yet. The maggot lair was tough, except for a few open areas and places where I had a good angle, I had to convince my merc to kill most everything. This involved leading monsters right into his face and keeping him healed, took a long time. Nothing else has been that tough.
this is a little off of what all you guys mentioned, but my Frozen Arrow/strafezon can solo hell. Its surprisingly easy when everything is frozen stiff. This zon did have full Mav though, thats prolly the only reason it lasted, that and the exploitation of slow missile. Uhh, agreed, skelliemancers own for some reason. so beneficial when you have meat to take the hit for you.
My hammerdin could solo hell at lvl80, my fire/lightning sorc could do it at around lvl80, as could my IK Concentration barb.

yes skellimancers are overpowered. I made one a few weeks back, ridiculously safe. I got to lvl 87 with a lvl 87 merc 39 skelli mastery and so fourth in about 2 weeks. I can solo almost everything, well actually I can solo everything. Except I occasionally die form those black souls.
if they only wouldnt pierce.... i havent really tested this, but would dim vision utterly handicap them?
never had problems in hell with my Summoner / BS Necro, and 95% of the time i play solo. i'm also trying a Skellemancer with my Summon Skeletons just about maxed, he's not doing too bad of a job as well.
