SOJ Counter??

So, I had been stocking up abunch of SOJs since 1.09. When I heard about when you sold them, DC would appear. Does he ONLY appear in Hell? I sold several SOJs in Hell without getting the counter, I sell 1 in Normal and it comes up right away. Can DC appear in Normal?

He can appear in normal/nm, but he won't drop annihilus, Hell he will always drop anni.
Hmmm... Okay. So, if I sold SOJs in normal in one game, and the counter appeared, and then I went to another Hell game and sold no SOJs, would DC still appear?

Don't risk them.

No. This has been tested. He appears only in Hell difficulty.

You can sell your sojs in normal games though and he will appear in any Hell games on the server you are selling on -- provided you sell enough (70-150).

When you say server, do you mean realm?

No, I literally mean the server (or IP) that you are playing on. The World Event is IP-based, not realm-wide.

You can check your IP by doing the following:

1. Start D2 and create a game, alt+tab out to minimize.

2. Go into Start/Run and type "command" (without the quotes)

3. In the dos window, type "netstat -n" (without the quotes)

4. You will see several rows of numbers. Look for a set of numbers that always ends with :4000. The 2-3 digits before the :4000 is the IP you are playing on.

For example: 123.45.678.90:4000

Your IP is 90.

If you are selling sojs in a game on IP .90, the counter will increase in all games on that IP. If you sell enough, Super Diablo will walk the earth in all hell games on .90.

Sweet man. One more question... How do you join a game on that IP?

Unfortunately, it takes some doing. Make a game, check your netstat. If the game is on the IP you desire, great! If not, keep making new games and checking your netstat until you get onto the IP you want.

You can find 'hot' IPs by using the IRC DC channel.

Server: Irc.gamesurge.net

Channel: #DClone-West or #DClone-East

I hope this helps. Good luck to you. :)

IRC is simply a chat program, similar to AOL or MSN Instant Messenger. Do a google search to find the mIRC webpage. you can download their IRC program for free. Once installed, simply join the server and channel that I referred to earlier in this thread.

The DClone channel is a great place to figure out what IPs have active soj counts. It's also a place where you can find a selling game if you have sojs to sell. The DClone channel features a handy-dandy soj bot, which is updated frequently with the latest counts and walks -- great for DC hunters like me. :)

nvm i did some investigating on irc and answered my own question. #dclone-east doesnt even exist. as far as i can see there is no channel for east whatsoever. kind of disapointing....maybe i should make a west account....

Are you sure you spelled everything correctly? It's worth a look. Since I happen to play on USWest, I only visit the #DClone-West channel -- which is always packed, by the way. The channel might have been unavailable at the time you tried to log in due to high-traffic.

Someone who plays and hunts DC on USE will have to field your question, Grease.
