    socketing rares using cube recipe

yes, I wanna know if anyone tried :)

I happen to have a self found soj.

    and arreat tells me

3 Perfect Skulls + 1 Rare Item + Stone of Jordan = Add 1 Socket To a Rare Item
Rare Items can only have one socket. You cannot add sockets to items that don't normally have sockets. You can not use this on a Rare with one socket. You can only add one socket to a zero socket Rare Item.

so I am assuming the iem will retain its property.
in which case it made me wonder whether the item in question will be able to keep its property AND get cube bugged def.

now, in theory I can use eth rep-dura ancient armor with ED, (hopefully no sox) and socket it with SoJ, which will give me a nicely boosted ancient armor, with def somwhere along 600+

now, please someone say the've tried. (and result was good?) otherwise I got no choice but to do this in b.net.....:undecided:

Eth bug only applies to non-magical ethereal items.

You are better off using Larzuk to punch a hole in your rare.
