Socketing question

I found an eth berserker axe with no sockets. Could i get 5 scokets on it for Larzak ?

Your Berserker Axe (any one of these in white or superior version) would get 6 sockets from Larzuk, because its Ilvl is higher than 40. Your only chance of getting 5 sockets on it is by subjecting it to the socketing recipe, although the odds of getting 5 sockets are then just 1 out of 6.

Hold it right there before you socket it though.

Keep in mind that 0/6sock eth berserker axes still are worth a lot...
Now, a 5sock maybe is worth more, but calculating the odds, an axe with 1-2-3-4 sockets wouldnt be worth anything, so think both one and two times extra before socketing it with a recipe that gives a random outcome. :s

On a side note: when you roll a 4 sock you can use it to make oath.
But, it's all about chances and luck ...

The socketing recipes only work for normal items, but ethereal normal items also work.

Like RTB says it surely is possible to use the socket recipe on ethereal items. You can't use the recipe on Superior items.
