Socketing blue items?

While doing Trav runs, I thought of how much more efficient things would be if I had dual 6-isted weapons on my switch for MF purposes. I thought again though, it would be even better if I had an echoing weapon with 6 sockets to ist up, so my Find Item would be even better.

Now, I probably won't ever get that many Ists to even consider doing that, but is such a thing possible? If I got, say, an Echoing Colossus Blade, and I socketed it, could it potentially gain 6 sockets? Or is there a limit on blue items and how many sockets they can get? Even if they can only get 5, it won't be worth it since a dual-isted Ali Baba would be better (due to added gold find as well)

blue items can have a maximum of 4 sockets -- and that spends away the prefix slot needed for the warcry mod.

AFAIK larzuk can only give you one socket in them.

go with either 6ist normal, or 2ist babas. :thumbsup:

Haha yeah, I was thinking Larzuk here, due to the prefix mix-up there. Oh well, worth a shot anyways. 12 Ists is too rich for my blood (since I refuse to trade with all those pesky botters and dupers), but it's still nice to dream.

If I'm not mistaken, magical items (blue) can get 1 or 2 sockets from larzuk, with a 50/50 chance of either.

Ya thats true. One to two for magical, one for rare and one for unique.

this is exactly correct.

as and added comment you can use the chippy recipe with high qlvl items to get 1-2 sockets and prefix/suffix but I don't think you'll be able to get the +3 warcries alvl with the qlvl's of the weapons the spawn that mod but I know +2 will spawn with that recipe and a high qlvl weapon.

Damn, I wish I thought of that in 1.09... would've been nice to cube an echoing sword with 3 sockets using the chippy formula. That would've been possible right? AFIAK, Echoing has a smaller alvl than Cruel, and you could definitely cube Cruels with that formula...

Yea, theres problbay one that exists somewhere, but I doubt you will ever find it. I would just go with isted alibabas if you cant afford 6 ist swords. Or isted gulls are even cheaper.
