    Socketing a Lacerator

Traded for one of these just recently, can't wait to get my thrower leveled enough to use it! 33% chance of amp damage - woo hoo!! These can be socketed can't they? What would be good to socket it with? It's already very fast, at -10 base and 30% IAS, so I was thinking as much ED or ED/max or whatever I could get (I think my best jewel right now is a 39%ED with 7 str or something like that).

Wow - now I swear I remember a guy showing me a couple of these type of throw axes that were socketed with stuff. Well if I was smart I'd just abuse my godly moderator powers and delete this thread before too many people read it. However, if I were actually smart I wouldn't have posted this in the first place... :bonk: (I thought this was the only type of throw weapon that could actually be socketed)

Lol. And in so responding, you make us respect you all the more -although I wonder- how many goof-threads could ZF have deleted without us even knowing it? Oohh. the conspiracies...

It did always seem unfair that the teeny little necro wands could be socketed while nice big throwing axes can't. Hmmph.

Yeah, I'd like to see the Blizzard logic that decided on that scenario. You can socket that tiny little wand with two sockets, but can't even put a measly ONE socket in that great big Winged Axe? BAH!!

    Maybe the theory is this:

    Quantity: 24

So, if you had 24 shaels to spare, you could socket each one of them...

Agree with nebby, one jewel can only be used on one throw. But then we should at least be given that option.

Explain to me how you are able to repair 180 javalins you threw away already.

    or better yet,

If you have 180 rare throwing knives, what makes them rare?

People, just like some like to see Quantum physics this way, the workings of throwing weapons in Diablo 2 - LoD is NOT a complete science

Anyway, to make the "best" out of it, I guess saying "repairing" would mean forging copies? It's fast, yes, but we're aiming for the "most" logic explanation here. Also, if you find a pack of "rare" throwing knives, the rareness (chance of Nova for example) certainly comes from magical properties. Maybe these magical properties are confined in the shape (or inscriptions which even a layman as Charsi can perform) of the item..

Then why doesn't Charsi make a trillion of those tasty +450%, 40%ias chance of Amp Winged Axes to sell for personal gain? MAYBE SHE DOES!!! You, however, will only get what the package allows in terms of weight/volume etc etc.

Ok, so it's a game and everything can't be explained :). I do think, however, that the reason why you can't socket the things is one of the more obvious, as stated above!

I'd just like to know how anybody could actually carry around 240 gimmershreds? That must be some kind of magic pouch! Even if they only weighed one pound each...

Better yet, how does those heroes in expansion have the aptitude to instantly change weapons and shield? Do they have 4 hands but can only use 2 of them at once?
