    Socket advise pls!

At the moment I am playing a rabies/Fury wolf and enjoying him very much in A3 NM especially with my new Holy Freeze Merc.

At the moment I am using Aldurs rythm, and it is going very well, but I just aquired a Nords Tenderizer and will use that as soon as I hit lvl68.(Looks like good cold damage, and base damage is double my rythm).

My problem is that is has no life/mana leech(witch is high on Aldurs).
I would like to use a socketing quest on this mace, but am not sure if I should stick a shael in it(it is slowerthan Aldurs as well, I think), or go with a Pskull.(maybe 2 sockets?.....Dunno).

If anybody could give me some advice, that would be great.

Personally I would rather use the Aldur's over the Nord's. Stick a couple Shael runes in it and it's faster than the Nords. Plus you don't have to worry about the leech. If you do socket the Nord's dont use a pskull, use an Amn rune for life leech.

Yes, I thought about this but the damage on Nords is much better, and the massive cold damage (300-450, +2 freeze target), I think would incapacitate any crowd, Especially with my HF merc.

I thought about a skull, because I am worried that my mana would drain away and leave me with no attack. atm blue and red stays filled up, and I only use an occasional big purple in heavy prolonged battles (or afainst any mana drain monsters.)

There is a leech penalty (check the other thread) in Nightmare and Hell; you may still need another source of mana/life leech.

Yes, atm I have got Sigons Gloves, belt & boots, for the increased attack sp and an extra 10% life leech. Nothing for mana exept on the mace.

Will I see a significant attack increse if I socket 2 shaels into Aldurs?
I still think I need more damage......

If i remember correctly Cathan's Seal Ring do have life leech (or mana leech, correct me if i'm wrong) just wear either one or two if you have (DON"T DUPE!).

[OT]: I'm still in losing character trauma over hacking and duping issue.

Look at it as damage over time. Usually weapons that are faster prevail over slow high damage ones. Not to mention you don't have to worry about finding a different source of life leech and mana leech if you stick with the Aldur's.

The best solution would be to find a better weapon than both of them but that's easier said than done in some cases. :azn:

Yes that Crescent Moon amulet looks just like the thing, I will definateley keep an eye out for it. But seeing as I am self-found I will probably not see it soon.

I think I will try and craft some good blood rings and try the Nords when I get to lvl68 (only 3 more lvl's).

Thanks for the advice. (actually forgot about the crafts, not a lot of experience but I will see how it goes 2-night)

Aldur's Rhythm would not be enough for Hell, especially for physical damage from Fury. Also with higher damage weapon, you will deal much more damage -> you will need less leech.
Still I would not insert PSkull in Nord's. If the Shael will increase your attack speed (use the wereform attack speed calculator from druid forum stickies...), it would be adept number 1. If not, use damage increasing jewel. Like others said, leech can be obtained from rings, gloves and other uniques.

Well, this might sound a bit wild, but I suggest you forget about both and go with a 2-handed weapon. As a druid, you have craptacular block speed, but lots of life and minions to protect yourself. A 2-hander will also deal much more damage and in return, will result in higher life leech. Try Nord's if you want, but unless you're sure that you'll use it as your endgame weapon (or, more generally, a 1-hander), don't waste your socket quest.

My fanazealot with HF merc, on the other hand, uses a Nord's and loves it. I'd choose it over Aldur's any day.

Off weapon IAS is pretty much pointless for a weredruid - it does nothing at all. If I were you, I'd dump the gloves (and probably the rest, since they're nothing special without the set bonuses) in favor of some crafted blood gloves with as much Crushing Bow as possible (to make up for low weapon damage) and as much LL as possible.

I'd also second the move to a fast 2-hander weapon. With leech from Feral Rage and a fast attack, you'll be much better off.
