Much like just about everyone else on the internet, you are exaggerating. The real numbers show well over half of the people with bachelor's degrees earn less than 50k a year. And note that is people over 25, which means they have a few years of experience at least (not recent grads).
What do the numbers look like if you exclude liberal arts majors?

Those numbers are a little hard to accept.

The fact of the matter is, people are making much more. At least where I live in the Northern California with these outrageous home prices, Bimmers, $4 lattes, etc...

Home prices near my area was $600-700k average. I know many people who bought homes around my area and they were paying the mortgage just fine. They aren't PHDs, doctors, or lawyers. Some are just plain construction trades men.

Meh, dated a girl from there whose daddy drove a forklift and paid for their 700k house. All that means is you live in a place with seriously inflated cost of living. The stats are a fact.

I think this recession has showed us that you can buy nice things and still be flat broke or worse.

People buying houses that they cannot afford and banks giving them the mortgages to do so is one of the reasons the economy is in the crapper.
