So is anyone watching the World Series besides me?

So is anyone watching the World Series besides me?

Usually about this time of year there are a bunch of MLB playoffs and World Series threads, but all I'm seeing are threads on the national religion (football). Is anyone else watching this?

Oh yeah, go Cards!

I certainly am. And, as a fan of the Houston Astros, I feel I must root quite hardily for the NL Central Division Champion St. Louis Cardinals, though they be a thorn in my side for much of the regular season.

Just remember that not everyone here is on the same time zone, so posting info about games requires a spoiler warning and shouldn't be done in the title of a thread.

IIRC PLF and several others were very upset when someone posted about the Red Sox.

I'm from Michigan, not a huge baseball fan, but am rooting half-heartedly for the Tigers.

If they were to win, it would at least make a great story... from the worst to the best in only two years.

I agree, National League all the way (unless they're the Giants). No DHs for us!

Baseball huh? World what? Series? Who cares, Texas beat Nebraska!

P.S. I'd have a different attitude if the 'stros made it in, of course.

Are you serious about the time zone? The Olympics are the only thing that staggers airing times.

It's all live for the big boy sports in America.

Yeah, but maybe someone's taping the game to watch after they get home from a late day at work. Marking the thread with SPOILERS or something in the title seems like a good idea for them.

Pfft, if you taped it, then don't read a thread about it first?

I could understand if the thread title was "Kenny Rogers is the pitching version of George Brett and the Tigers shouldn't have won" but other than that...

That word "world" makes me wonder quite a bit.

Although the noble game is played somewhat abroad, there is something very much resembling the kookiness that happens when Finns decide to hold World Championship of pesäpallo (a game evolved, and directly translated, from the American baseball, more suitable for untended fields, and having a clearer aim for steeling the young men for the arduous deeds of war [diving, running and throwing, as in grenade, being perhaps a bit more prominent], which was brought to Finland and developed by Tahko Pihkala in the 1920's). Some Estonians (who, due to proximity to our capital, get sometimes to see Finnish TV channels) showed up to play, and that's about the world participation there was.

I'm a Mets fan, so after the 8th and 9th innings of the NLCS my heart just isn't in the WS. I may watch in a few days, when the suspense starts to build, but for now I can't really bring myself to watch. Though, I do have to give props to Rogers. Love em or hate em, he’s tearing everything up in the postseason.

Yeah, um, just like KOW said (and I meant) . . . Don't give away the score or results in a thread title. Inside the thread we should feel free to shout THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT or whatever feels right.

Just remember that not everyone here is on the same time zone, so posting info about games requires a spoiler warning and shouldn't be done in the title of a thread.

LOL. A Mets fan. LOL

Speaking of Kenny, I wonder how he got away with having that pine tar on his hand.
