So if you like World Travel

and Have Done some.

If you were picking a different place in the world to live that where you do.
Where?
I have a number of places a would not mind as a second home location.

Lugano in Switzerland comes to mind for example.

Somewhere on Bonaire. The tourists are more European and less American which seems to have resulted in smaller quieter living as opposed to the big hotels that are on Aruba.

Then again, I could spend years on the garden coast in South Africa.

I haven't been there yet, but Lofoten, Norway seems like a dream.
Somewhat quiet in there, but if you like the view, you get a lot of it. I'm not sure about the employment prospects, there, but I don't think that's the point of the thought exercise.

That Lofoten place is secksy.

Um, hmmm, how about Nuuk, Greenland. Or Reykjavik, I think the hot springs would be froody. On the other end of the world, I think New Zealand would be somewhat cool, but that may be a fabrication of my mind, encouraged by countless panoramas or gorgeous New Zealand landscape.

No you are to factor that in, but assume things go well at least and hopefully you have friends at least or are well off enough to do well regardless there, Experienced World Travelers are assumed to have skills that enable this or money to spare.
You should have been there to judge 1 time at least. Prague in C.R. looked like it was popular with Americans last time I was there and I have a friend there for example.
Assume you don't have any problems with border agents etc (unless your a smuggler).

OK then, if you like chopping smelly fish Lofoten is the place to be. Not trying to piss on parade of you guys, just giving a reminder that peripheries usually have peculiar job opportunities - if that.

I worked internationally for a number of years.
I should've been where? Lofoten? Prague? Why should I have been in either? Were you even talking to me? *confoozled*

I can get many reasons why one would like Prague, but can you sum it up from the American point of view that you're commenting on?
Cause Thats MY Pick I have prospects that I have never been to, I have not been to Costa Rico for example.
You seem to be behind Times on the Whole Thead again. [Post Time Fugue]

Wow, that was a gorgeous photo.

I grew up near Vancouver and want to go back, if I can ever get off my *** and make it happen.

As far as places I've traveled to, Amsterdam and Copenhagen would be near the top of my list of places to live. I never made it to Lugano, but Lucerne was beautiful and Interlaken a lot of fun.

The great ocean itself, and what is left of the Gulf Stream, leaves its mark on Røst, with mild winters and cool summers. Coupled with relentless winds, the climate is ideal for the production of the island's most important export commodity, stockfish. From January to April large amounts of cod are brought ashore and hung on racks, to be processed by the weather and turned into first class products. Røst is more dependent on fish than most other municipalities in the country. In fact, not many municipalities in Norway produce export articles for larger sums per inhabitant than Røst.

I did Lucerne and Zurich as well as Geneva so That all factors in.
I had to spend a month in Viaden in Netherlands and Amsterdam is very fun but no thanks.

He was just trying to find an excuse to brag about where he's been. It's a common disease among world travellers. They always start with Prague too. Not sure why that is.

Travelling is awesome.

I can't think of somewhere I'd rather live than the U.S. so far, though. I also have lots more travelling to do :) (been to Paris, Amsterdam, Bracelona, San Juan, Cancun)

I'm working a ton over the next 2 months in the hope of making enough to go to Thailand for 2-3 weeks. I want to go to an asian country and there is plenty of interesting stuff there and..importantly.. good value for my dollars.

I'd go live in Spain in a heartbeat if there were good work. Specifically, I'd probably push towards Barcelona if at all possible, but Madrid, Sevilla, or Salamanca wouldn't be too bad either.

It's a good place to start. It's in the middle of stuff.

Ev, you are, imo, insane ;)

For me it would probably be Italy or possibly Spain. I would also like to spend more time in the US than one week to see how I'd like it. Maybe Canada, maybe the channel isles. I've traveled a lot around Europe but not much worldwide. :/

If you do come to the centre of the known universe be sure to let me know.
And remember you can go topless so you will want to come in the summer.
