i would use dusk on a java. looks a load better, and leaves more points for vita. unless you use spirit or 20/20 of deflecting. =o then archons better, but dusk is still teh hott0rz. pdef on a dusk is 971 iirc.

On superior plate the enhanced defense from runeword is applied to base defense of the armor (=defense before the bonus for item being superior). So the highest defense on sup CoH archon is 969

For normal plate your calculations are correct


...I wouldn't make a runeword in superior item anyways, imho the max 78 points more def are not worth the trouble
