oh man now I did just make such a long reply, and then it doesn't show :-\ well...

    Upped HOZ = more damage

I guess grief which add damage to smite works like this: (add damage + HS damage + shield damage) * (1+%ED/100)

It could also work like this which I don't hope hope: add damage + (HS damage + shield damage) * (1+%ED/100)

After what I know you won't be able to see the effect grief makes on the LCS, but it should be there :)

IMO the damage of smiting is irrelevant anyway. What matters is that it always hits, so things like CB become very effective versus tough enemies, like Baal. For example, my zealot with Goreriders and a single point invested into smite and using a normal HoZ (not upped) cuts him down to a sliver in perhaps 15 seconds, so 2-3 further zeal rounds finish him off.

Grief varies from 340-400, let's say you have a 351.

Is it lvl 43 smite, lvl 43 HS, and lvl 28 Fana?

    (351+150,5+46) * (1+(645+509+200)/100) = 7233 average damage

That is if grief gets boosted by smite, fana, and strength like HS, and your Zakarum shield.

    Hope it helped :)
