SmiterMimer vs. Ubers

After studying the poorman's guide all day and unsuccessfully searching for the pieces of Treachery, I figured that I had enough preparation and opened up the uber-tristram portal. Before I entered, I had swapped out my angelic set with +resist rings which, in addition to quaffing thawing/ poison potions and salvation, gave me 300+ resist all. I also transferred a ravenfrost from StraferMimer (my strafer) for the useful CBF and cold absorb and also some GC of sustenance which put my life at around 900 (really low, I know).

After making my way around trist like the poorman guide suggested, I stepped up to the Mephisto summoning stone. Out of no where, skeles spawned around me from the ground. Luckily, I was prepared to run and quickly ran away down south. Meph charged after me and, still in panic mode, I started running along the wall counterclockwise as he kept summoning **** around me. Finally, halfway up the south-western wall, I got my wits together and switched my life tap wand, turned around, and life tapped Mephisto. Then running back while switching weapons, I proceeded to smack him with my smite. All was going well until I realized that I was the only thing moving on the screen....and, anticipating the super fast game speed after lagging, hovered my fingers over the potion buttons. Alas, it wasn't enough and after the game started moving again, I died in a split second.

Re-entering the game and going through the pre-game routine again, I went to get revenge on Meph and was prepared to lifetap/ smack him this time. I didn't lag and managed to take him down after quaffing 2 rows of blues. I slowly made my way around tristram killing the skeles he spawned and prepared myself for Diablo.

To my surprise, as I approached the Diablo spawn spot, Baal popped out. Panicing again, I ran away only stopping after he was out of sight. Not having brought mana potions for this fight, I thought about going back for some manas but decided just to go for it. Using up my belt of blues (for mana), I managed to take Baal out in a few minutes.

After clearing up tristram again, I knew that Diablo would be my toughest battle as I used up all my blues (yea, pretty unprepared) in the previous two fights. Running around, I spawned Diablo and had the beat down laid on me by him and about 4 pit lords (someone needs to make pgems work for the rejuvy formula). I restarted and re-entered Trist with another belt of reds and, luckily, only aggroed Diablo. He went down really fast alone as I had 75% lighting resists plus 25% lightning absorb from Lightsabre. The only slight problem was that I ran out of mana for smite when Diablo was at a sliver of health. After running around for 2 seconds, the mana regened and I finished him off.

Lessons:
1. Don't panic, and if you do, its always run down and then counterclockwise :).
2. Be prepared for the unexpected spawn, guides can't predict random events.
3. Think before you go into battle (I was really lucky my juvies lasted through Baal's death and was lucky my mana didn't go out earlier during the battle with Diablo, should have gone back for manas for Baal and saved my juvies for Diablo)

As for the torch...13/20 sorc torch. I guess Blizzard is saying that Mimer and SmiterMimer's uber fun is just starting :).
