smiter vs smiter

hey guys i would like to know from some pros smiters out there how can you stun your opponents and make them bounce away from you, i know its not the knockback nor charge or charge smite combo, i just can't figured how this guy beat me i got 4k life and better items and he got 3k and he stunning me n i bounce back, when ever i run to him i get stunned for about 2 secs. is there any techniques to how to attack and stunned your opponents, we both using HOZ

Sounds like he has better hit recovery than you do. Smiter duels mostly come down to DR and FHR. Stun has no affect in PvP, those little stars above your head mean nothing.

FHR is pretty important in PvP I've found. More so than +skills IMHO. Shoot for like 5 or 6 frames.

U're using an upped HOZ I hope...

He might be using cleglaw's for some additional knockback. Not sure though.
knock back does NOT add additional kb. I have Smiter vs Smiter dueled many times, and really, i have no explaination. Sometimes, i get kb'd and sometimes i do the kb. most of the time however, neither of us kb eachother and it ends up being the difference in DR, Life, DMG. it probably has something to do with lag, although im not too sure.

if you are USEast Ladder, hit me up sometime and lets smite vs smite *chessvampire you can also find me in op diabloii.net

I think Smite has a 50% chance for knockback against a player. Smite is also uninterruptable so if you both namelock smite each other, neither one of you will budge. If a person is hit with Smite and cought off guard, there is a 50% chance he will get knocked back. I don't know if knockback from gloves increase the chance of knockback, but I use them, anyway. Don't quote me on this, though. This is what I think.

I've heard that kb doesn't work w/ smite. And smite doesn't kb as a skill.

But smite does kb occasionally. I would say that that comes from being smited when the swirly is on your head. It probably happens when you're caught not smiting as smite is uninterruptable. That should explan why you can smite each other to hacks but sometimes you kb or even start gliding over the screen.

Here is a few tips always walk and use charge for mobility just so your blocking % doesn't drop if he try to charge you while your moving without charge, you should also get the holyfreeze skill it's not bm if you have it as an aura and try to flash him with it until get gets froze when that happens he will be slowed and you will get off somewhere in between 2-4 smites for his one,you should also be using a grief zerker for range in smite vs smite just make sure you hit the last smite break point and also make sure you have 50 dr and atleast 48 fhr while keeping enough ias to hit the last smite break point with a grief zerker axe.

Smite always knocks back, unless the opponent is using an uninterruptible skills (zeal, jab etc.) or they are against a object from which they can't be knock backed.

Yes, shift smiting is uninterruptable.
Smite is uninterruptible, it makes no difference if you hold shift or not, doesn't change how the skill functions.

im not too sure on that, whenever i shift smite ww sins or barbs and they direct ww to me i'll more than occasionally miss my smite

From what you're describing it sounds more like weapon range/server desync issues than if Smite is uninterruptible or not.

BTW shift smiting is essential but if you misuse it you're dead. For barbs you want it for your optimum block and defense. For other smiters, I'm not quite sure why, if you shift smite and the other guy runs up to you you will lose all the time considering same gear same stats and same skill (not that there's much skill involved in doing that). From my experience shift smiting against other smiters suck. Maybe the opponent gets the first hit in? Just don't do it.
