Smiter Offensive Aura Question.

Hey Guys.. Thanks in advance. :)

My Question would be:
Should i invest 4 points getting Sanctuary for undead mobs like when doing a pindlerun or later when starting ubers.
Or 5 points to get Conviction also? Im assuming it works like necro's amplify damage and removes Phsyical Immunities?

If so, Will 1 point be enough in each and rely on my +skills. I only have +5 to all skills and +2 to Combat Skills at the moment as this is my first ladder character.

Ofcourse my main aura is Fanaticism, Cause of the ED and IAS.

But Basically, Im pretty stuck for choice as of where the last points go from leveling up.. since my main skills as a smiter... are maxed, So any help with this also would be greatful.

Current Level: 83

Current Skills Are:
Defensive Auras
1 Prayer
20 Defiance
1 Cleansing
1 Meditation
1 Vigor
1 Redemption
1 Salvation.

Offensive Auras
1 Might
1 Blessed Aim
1 Concentration
20 Fanaticism

Combat Skills
20 Smite
1 Holy Bolt
1 Charge
1 Blessed Hammer
20 Holy Shield

Points Remaining: 2

conviction doesn't remove physical resistance, if that's what you're asking. lots of ppl swear by sanctuary, but i personally don't like investing so many points just to use it, although i guess you don't have much else to do, huh? be aware though that sanctuary is bugged, it doesn't actually increase your damage vs undead monsters, it gives every (undead?) monster in range that enhanced damage vs undead.....which obv doesn't do anything since you're not undead. but it does knock them back.

Not increasing the damage isn't a problem.
So Conviction is completely useless, since smiters can't have elemental attacks...

Could you clarify for me though... Get sanctuary, or not?

if so, How many points would you thinks best? if i spend the remaining points i have (say if i get to 99) id have 12 points spare after putting 3 points in the pre-requisits, plus one in sanctuary its self, leaving it at the maximum of level 13 for the increased range which would be..

Radius: 3.3 yards
Magic dmg: 11-23

13 points.
Radius: 11.3 yards
Magic dmg: 56-69

Since the Magic damage is pathetic for 1 point and 13 points (in hell atleast) Id see the range increase as being useful to definetly keep any undeads away whilst i smite away at something in a corner which cant be pushed back by the Sanctuary or my Smite.

But im not quite sure just how far 3.3 yards is or 11.3 yards in-game atleast, Im guessing that extra 8 yards would make a heck of a difference, probably even a life saving difference.

Sanctuary may seem like a good idea. I've never tried it, but it does seem good. I mean, the only other option to spend your points on is resist lightning, which I think isn't worth the points except if using holy shock or vengeance. You can try first to get a scepter with a sanc staff-mod and see if you like it. Also, remember that you may get more +skills later, so don't put points into sanc ithout hesitation

I thought along those lines and did that already :)

sanctuary disables Undead Physical Immunitys :D

It still says they're Physical Immune but you can hurt them with normal damage (Smite in my case. which cant deal any elemental damage)

@ previous comment about sanctuary being bugged and adding the +dmg to undead to the actual undeads.. it must be fixed, i deal more damage to undead with Sanctuary on then i do with Fanatiscm.. Only 1 point in it too, getting +6 from skills to it thou.
