smiter equipotment

    smiter equipotment

    i only have a few runes to spend on my pvp smiter, so i wanted to know which items are the most important(makes smite damage higher). the only item i know of that i must have is grief

    for pvp, grief, fort, and exile are pretty obvious choices.

    Fortitude is pretty far from obvious choice for pvp. Enigma all the way.

    And yeah, like copilot stated earlier, you can find guides for both from the guides thread.

    Exile for PvP?? Gimme a break.

    1. It does not have inherent resists, and won't beat HoZ in this department even if you build it in a [email protected] base pala shield.

    2. Life Tap is often considered BM (bad manners), so even using something like Dracs, with only 5% CtC LT will get you frowned upon.

    I say go HoZ for PvP.

    About Enigma - you won't have enough FCR to be able to catch up with caster teleporting characters anyway, Charge is a better choice for this.

    Enigma is not used to catch casters.

    It allows you to build your smiter with base str, resulting in alot higher life. It also offers you 8% dr, increases max life and the most important thing of the all, mobility.

    Tele smiting is one of the best tactics to fight barbs and its also highly effective vs. many other chars, i've killed countless people with suprise tele-smites. Chain tele-smites are very handy way to hunt down an opponent. The thing is tele is not only tele-smiting, but also the mobility. You can teleport out of prisons, out of hammer fields and so on.

    imo fort beats enigma for the ehanced damage. and ive never really seen pvp smiters use hoz instead of exile?

    As I said, LT is often considered bad manners in pubs, since it provides almost complete invulnerability (Hdins and other overpowered casters are not counted here).

    I totally agree with berg in the exile thing. It's same as you would be popping rejuvenation potions. For example smite vs. smite with both using exile is all about luck, the one whos lt triggers first, wins. Ofcourse the lifetap rules vary from realm to realm and league to league.

    I still won't take forti over enigma. 300 off weapon ed does not make that big difference in damage. It's not all about damage in pvp. Smiters aren't using pala combat skillers, hammerdins doesn't aim for higher than 10k damage and so on.

    imo:fort if only consider duel melee fighters, engima for over all pubby duel

    Hehe you sure you ever done pvp?
    Enigma is the armor that any smiter should use, str bonus, teleport, dr,+life.

    Teleport is important as hell for pvp smiter, one just needs spirit to get the 75 fcr break point with fcr ring and arach+trangs..
    Now if you know what you are doing casters are very much catchable with teleport.

    hoz is the gm smiter shield. exile is the crutch.

    oh, and enigma hands down over fort. i know, i have a fort/hoz smiter. 3k life just 'aint enough.

    bingo.

    tele-smite is the only hope of beating any half competent barb/ww'sin.
