    Smite and... some things that are not always mentioned.

    Most of us know that Smite is an attack that "always hits", similar to guided arrow, only guided arrow can be blocked by a shield.

    Smite however, "ALWAYS" hits, and can't be blocked. This is what almost everyone that knows a darn about smite will tell you.

    Some will say that "smite always connects", or something similar.

    So I decided to do a small test: I got 2 pallies (my friend and I), and he used 1 swing of smite against mine (max block)

    1st try: no block, full damage taken
    2nd try: block sound, full damage taken
    3rd try: block sound, full damage taken
    4th try, no block, full damage taken

    Okay until now. Then I get a zon with shield, max block, and 52% Dodge.

    1st try: Block sound, no damage taken
    2nd try: dodge, no damage taken
    3rd try: dodge, no damage taken
    4th try: full damage taken
    5th try: Block sound, full damage taken

    I stopped there and decided to ask you guys what's going on. How come the zon can avoid the smite, when everyone sustains that smite cannot be avoided?

    Also on a side note.... I noticed that the missiles from succubus can be blocked by a shield, and many many spells can be Avoided by the amazon (all bolts, spirits, bone spear, Nova, Blizz, FE explosion, etc...)

    Perhaps zons can have avoid checked in addition to block on the same hit? I don't know if anyone have tested that extensively. How about assassin claw block?

    Smite is very much like a spell, in that it is auto-hit. So only amazon passives and clawblock can stop it from hitting.

    Missiles that do physical damage are blockable (like arrows). The Succubus missiles have a physical component.

    Good! How about high defense? (or are they more like "guided" arrows?)?
