+% skill damage affect chance to cast stuff?

Does +% skill damage from stuff like facets affect damage from things that are chance to cast like frozen orb from rift or firestorm from hellfire torch or the belt that gives 5% chance of casting blizz when struck?

and has anyone ever used that belt? It has 5% chance to cast up to level 20 blizz when struck. Does that trigger often?

    yes.

No one uses it for that property. If you're a blizzard sorc, the +2 to your skill is awesome.

It will trigger an average of once every 20 hits you take. If you're getting hit often enough so that the Blizzard triggers on a regular basis, then you have more things to worry about than a silly Blizzard. :wink3:

Actually, it doesn't work on the Hellfire Torch's Firestorm.

The firestorm gets its dmg from missiles.txt, not skills.txt. That's what apparantly prevents it from being improved by +% fire dmg.
