skellymancer build question

ive got a lvl 32 skellymancer w/...
13 RS
6 in Skelly mastery
2 in amplify damage
and only 1 in golem, mastery, summon resist, teeth, corp explosion, weaken, terror, decrep. i have 6 points right now.

my question is where should i focus these points from here? should i pump up the mastery or just try to finish the RS.

Hard points in RS will give you slightly stronger skellies over hard points in SM.

So max RS first, then follow-up with SM.

Once i have 5-6 skellies, I prefer to max SM because i hate having my wall of defence shatter and leaving me exposed to death, if one or two go down slowly, enough time to get em back in action but if you have 8 that get cut through like butter...thats trouble. alsoI like to addi points to CE for the killing speed Usually one or two for every 5 invested in skellies (SM or RS)

Slvl 1 SM and slvl 20 RS:
Damage: 41-43
Damage: +119 percent
Attack: 320
Defense: 320
Life: 207
Life: 293 (N)
Life: 407 (H)
8 skeletons total
Mana Cost: 25

Slvl 20 SM and slvl 1 RS:
Damage: 41-42
Attack: 320
Defense: 320
Life: 181
Life: 190 (N)
Life: 202 (H)
1 skeletons total
Mana Cost: 6

Slvl 9 SM and slvl 20 RS:
Damage: 76-78
Damage: +119 percent
Attack: 440
Defense: 440
Life: 271
Life: 357 (N)
Life: 471 (H)
8 skeletons total
Mana Cost: 25

Slvl 20 SM and slvl 9 RS:
Damage: 59-61
Damage: +42 percent
Attack: 440
Defense: 440
Life: 244
Life: 280 (N)
Life: 328 (H)
5 skeletons total
Mana Cost: 14

In both cases, RS provides more powerful and sturdier skellies.

but he has lvl 6 already invested in SM and 12 in RS
Current Skill Level: 20 ( with 6 in SM)
2: Damage: +119 percent
5: Attack: 395
5: Defense: 395
13: Life: 247

Life: 333 (N)
Life: 447 (H)
36: 8 skeletons total
1: Mana Cost: 25

Current Skill Level: 12 ( with 20 in SM)
2: Damage: +63 percent
5: Attack: 485
5: Defense: 485
13: Life: 275

Life: 325 (N)
Life: 391 (H)
36: 6 skeletons total
1: Mana Cost: 17

i'd take the extra def over dam, plus keeps the mana cost down ( not that it actually matters but hey!)
i just used the norm life but NM is even and really before Hell then both
should be maxed

But looking at the numbers little more and what you've done already, add three skill points to RS get it to 7, then max SM and get some CE goining too!
Current Skill Level: 15
2: Damage: +84 percent
5: Attack: 530
5: Defense: 530
13: Life: 307
Life: 370 (N)
Life: 454 (H)
36: 7 skeletons total
1: Mana Cost: 20

edit: not that it really matters now

I don't think it matters too much which you max first... as long as you've got at least 5-6 max skeletons by the end of normal, and have them both maxed eventually, you'll be fine. Your current skill set up should be able to eat up Nightmare with ease.

I'm more worried about the fact that you've got 2 points in Amp... 1 is more than enough for me, since it's only 4 mana and you can spam it around to cover the screen. But i'm kind of a perfectionist... (REBUILD!!1!!1!!)

just kidding... good luck with your summoner.

yeah, i just figured it was best to ignore that in SC, i actually sometimes add a few to it in HC just so i don't have to deal with it low leveled and since it only takes 72 skill points to have main skills maxed ( RS, SM, CE) and one point wonders/prereqs you can add 5 to amp and still have a good bone sheild

thanks for all the info guys... another q (sorry) but which stat should i be focused on first.. i got my energy up to 65 ( im following the guide on this site) 50 in vital, 65 in strength but i havent touched my dex at 25. im sittin on 40 extra stat points...
id like to eventually use high end items once i can find them. so where should my stat points be so i dont kick my self later and i can't equip an item. sorry for the stupid q's.

It depends on what items you plan on having end-game.

Getting energy to 65 is one reason I would kick myself.

Strength enough for end-game gear.

Dexterity for either max block, or at base.

Vitality is for the rest.

No, no points into Energy!!! That's what blue potions are for! You are a fishymancer not a sorc! (ahem... must be less rabid here). Sorry, I'd recommend not putting points into energy as your mana will go up as you level and the fishy build is quite mana non-intensive. A few found blue potions are more than enough to keep things flowing. Other sources of mana include charms, your equipment, etc. etc. etc.

Frostburn is totally correct in point distribution. Some will argue that putting points into block with a high block shield (Homuc or whatever) is better than putting points into vitality since the necro has a poor vitality to hit point ratio. This is a personal decision. I went with high block and the rest into vitality, but either way is viable.

Good luck and good hunting!

I use Homunculus and even then went with max vita. My playstyle with skelliemancers is to not get into melee range. As for piercing ranged physical attacks, and the occasional melee attack, I have a 20 point BWall / 1 point BArmour combo.

Even with my sorcs I don't place points into Energy, unless it's a pure Energy ES sorc.

just use attract for the range physical attackers
they will attack them instead of u.
also fire golem proove to be useful due to their holyfire attracting monsters.
