Skellimancer Hireling question

i've recently acquired a Hone Sundan @ 174% ED. would i be better off finding as many heinous %ED jewels and runes as i can to kit it out further, or should i stick with my cruel colossus voulge that runs at 264% ED and +100 poison damage? the Unique has Crushing Blow, wich is really rather nifty, but my hireling does 440 - 2000ish damage already. how much more could i conceivably milk the Hone Sundan, and which would be the better choice?

shael+shael+amn or shael+amn+amn are usually the two obvious choices for a hone sundan in a merc..

and the cb is great for bosses.

You could up it to increase the damge before you put your jewels/runes in.

right. so all i need is a Pul rune.

you might check the trade forums though, as you may be able to find a better unique polearm/spear that is worth a pul.

If the hone sundan isn't ethereal, don't up it.

If it is, the choice is yours between it and an eth obedience.

I used an ethereal upped Hone Sundan Yari on my Fishymancer's Merc for quite a while. It works really well. He pokes stuff fast and packs a wallop. Even better is an ethereal "Obedience" in a fast polearm like a Thresher. I think my Merc was getting 3-4K something w/ eth Hone Sundan and now gets almost 6K w/ eth "Obedience" Thresher.
