skelies with poison or bone

After playing 2 necros thru hell both pure summon necros. I like them and yep I went thru it all alone. with 35 raise and 34 mastery and a good clay with might merc.

Now I want to try something a bit different.
still like skelies but I want to do posion or bone?

after reading both the guides on this I have to ask can max skelies with 1 in mastery work at all in hell?

seems to me they would fall like wheat as fast as you could cast them
I have not tried it since I had both maxed before hitting hell.
Am I wrong?

ps have the gear well I don't have bramble but I have all the set and uniques I need.

I see skelies as safety net and me doing either poison nova, or spirits,,,,just don't know which way to go..
seems that both rely on some bone armor...marrow bug (WHEEEE)
and corpse explosion.
Now if I just had might merc, with beast and a doom weapon, and me with bramble.
man I can dream can't I LOL

I think since 1.10 a summoner has been a lot more difficult to make especially with the posion route... I would suggest using your summoning with skeles and a few points in mastery. As for the P&B side, use the Marrow bug (of course), but I would suggest bone spear or bone spirit (whichever your pref). I have tried Poison Nova many times, and yet it is fun, its REALLY tough to do much damage in hell since the monsters heal so quickly. Also Courpse Explosion, once you know how to use it well is a nasty nasty skill and will become your best friend with skeles

i use bone spear on my summoner and it's going well so far. he is level 67 and i have been soloing NM Baal since around level 55 with no problems. I was going to invest more than 1 point in corpse explosion but i was told it can't keep up in hell. I have noticed a lot of skills will carry you through normal and NM but in hell just aren't enough (immo arrow w/ my poor bowazon for example).

I just think course explosion is perfect for crowd control in hell. If you have skeles going up against a pack of like 15-20 monsters, and 1 of them goes down - courpse explosion can take out a lot of their HP in one swap --- it basically just makes your skele's job much easier

I can do solo baal runs at level 77 with my poisoner/summoner. His gears Trang Ouls with AOKL, Marrows, Manald Heal, Nagel, +2 Summon Ammy. Gear wasn't to expensive and I tanked through hell solo. My PN is low i think around 4k-5k but i have found the 1 point in CE and all the +skills its good to switch to fo PoisonImune Monsters, and PI monsters. I can't seen how going the Bone side would give bone spear or spirit enough to do much in hell. I have also found with Poison they monsters don't heal. Which is handy. But this was my first Summoner and pretty impressed with it

what do you have on raise skelies and mastery?

are they going strong or constantly dying in hell?

last ladder when I was playing a lot of summoners I max both with decrep and ce and it was just point and watch. I assumed that maxing both was the only way to servive in hell. Maybe I was way off.

if this leaves 19 extra points then poison might work with this.

My Necro is a skelie/ce/nova necro (my pvm if your wondering) he solos just about anything. Nova isnt fully synergized but it kicks all *** (but poison immunes DAMN U :rant: )
