    Skeleton Mage/ Clay golem Necro

I've been doing a lot of necro builds sonce I restarted D2, and I must say I'm having the time of my life, with equipment a lvl 3 character would be ashamed of my skelliemancer whacked baal on nightmare...
But when it comes to skills I've tried all poison and bone skills, I've experienced all curses and I've had vast armies of skelleton warriors...
Never had a necro with skeleton mages or even a golem...

So I was thinking, if I max clay golem (tank), golem mastery (speeding up the tank), skeleton mage and skeleton mastery (damage) and lower resist (more damage) will my necro be viable for hell? And what merc should I use, I was thinking a rogue or mage merc sonce they complement the army well and the tank really isn't helpen by any of the aura's, and neither are the mages...

Thanks in advance for any advice...

    Does LR break Immunities?

I'm saying that because most enemies in Hell are Immune to some type of magic, so unless it DOES break Immune, you would run into trouble fast.

Lower res will break the FIRST elemental immunity (fire, light, psn, cold)

If they have 2 immunities then only one would die.

Its a lord of Mages build, though there is no guide for it yet.

holy freeze merc would help quite a bit, since mages are more fragile than warriors.

Welcome Newcomer to The Darkness. Grab a brew :drink: and feel free to raise some corpses.

The skill set-up looks pretty good. But I would advice you to pump Bone Prison some. It will enable your Mages to pelt the enemy with missiles with complete impunity.

As for a Merc go with what kaervek666 said.

Thank you all for the advice...

I'll go and make one right now...

But, even though bone prison would indeed be very helpfull, I'm not quite sure it warants a skill point investement, I might try to get bone prison through items...
Other than this last point of doubt, I have made up my mind...

    So thanks... :)
