Anyone else have this problem? I'm running win7 64bit and chrome (fully updated).

Problems started roughly a week ago, and I don't know what's causing it. No other sites seem to have this problem, but when I view this one, it can lock up the browser totally. CPU usage through the roof, and stuff like flash support crashes and needs to be reloaded (according to chrome).

No problems here. Latest Firefox, Windows 10. Never had problems with this site. Only the fb problems I have mentioned in offtopic forum.

It's buggy in IE as well, which is the only other browser I have installed. I think it's some of those animated commercials which doesn't work right with newer versions of flash or something. I didn't have trouble until the ads told me to eat right or something.

I use win7 and chrome and have had this problem for quite a while - like 3-4 weeks. I suspected it was to do with the advertisements, since it seemed to coincide with certain ads and/or certain periods. Sometimes the forums would open in a split second and later the same day take 20-30 seconds to load per thread and suck up all the connection effectively freezing everything else going on on the computer. It is sometimes slow for me still, but the freezing hasn't occered in the last week or so for me iirc.

Yeah, I had the freezes as well. Even my mouse froze at times. That's done with, but scrolling and loading threads/pages can sometimes hog just about all processing power available, which is a LOT more than should be necessary.

Yes, same issues here on Win7 and Chrome, and on Win7 and IE as well.

A more tedious workaround would be to keep task manager open, and when the site starts to bug out, kill the chrome process which appears at the top when sorted by CPU usage. That is not a permanent fix, though, but it's better than waiting for five minutes for a page with almost only text to load.

Ghostery is an alternative that may work but I have no idea
