The difference is as akse says. In DII, Things were rendered in frames because animation were composed of prerendered (.gif) figures combined in 25 frames per second. Showing something between those figures was impossible.
and they chose to let the visual aspect and the calculation run in parallel forcing breakpoints in the game.

In DIII however, we have a 3D system that renders in real time. There is no need for breakpoints. You can speed up animation as much as you want by any possible percentage. All you have to do is render the animation at a different points and you can visualise it.

you can't have Diablo without single player, its like America without Apple pie
