Singer barb need help

Yea i have already started a singer and i was wondering which is better max block or duel wielding weps I was thinking of block since my friend wit his duel hoto does real well but I'd like to be able to block once in awhile.
any ideas or thoughts all will be helpful and appreciated thx.

A singer should not need a shield at all, because of war cry, taunt and battle cry. Go with dual wielding, especially with fast weapons. Frenzy is recommended, although double swing is very fast as well. If you feel a little crowded in by the mobbing fans, drop a microphone (grim ward) and watch them run.

lol, never heard of it refered to as a microphone before. But it really does look like one!

Anyway, I'd suggest dual weilding as well. The +skills is insanely helpful (not to mention the fast cast of 2 HotO's, etc) and you shouldn't have any trouble keeping monsters away using your skills as deadbeater mentioned.

If this is ladder West I have a +2 barb skills 10% faster cast (and some other mods, forgot them at the moment) ammy that you can have... I've been looking for a singer to give it to.

Frenzy and Double Swing?? Not on a Singer...

Only Combat Skill worth considering is Leap/Leap Attack unless you just go for a Melee Build supported by War Cries. (Ex: War Cry/Berzerk to stun and crush)

As was said... Dual Wielding is a waste. They're all stunned... Why do you have to block??

You also have a High level BO, you shouldn't be wanting for life.

+Skills, Fast Cast, all kinds of good things you can get by dual wielding. HotO is not necessary at all (Though Ideal)... Wiz Spike, Suicide Branch and Even Echoing Swords could get the job done.

how about on a pvp variant? i can get my warcry damage to around 1800 with a shield, and around 2000 with another HOTO.. would having a shield help me survive a BOTD barb? or could i kill the barb before then?

Having a Shield would help you survive a BotD Barb... killing him is a different matter.

It would take a lvl45 BO with a Shield to reach the numbers you're describing. Realistically, if you actually want Resistance or PDR, I wouldn't predict much more than slvl41. (1650 avg dmg)

or couse HotO dosn;t give much mana at all

Unless you're obscencely rich and can trade for 17//20 scs

I'd suggest either dual wiz or 1 wiz + 1 HotO

I'd also suggest something like

20 warcry
20 BO
20 (a synergy)
20 SHout
1 leap attack
1 the 4 passives
1 find potion
rest synergys


the shout lets you surive after you jump into a pack befor you get you're WC off

Remember Mana> all as WC is a huge drain to mana (if you want to kill things... you could be content with being support)

PS: I had a lvl 90 SInger 1.09 xxAmericanIdolxx doing 350 WC with 3.5k mana 2.5 k life and lvl 35-38 cries

my singer is clvl 81 and has no problem killing anything not phys immune solo in hell
*berserk for phys immune after stun*
I use dual wizardspikes because Im poor and cannot afford vex atm.
he does 1k damage with slvl 26 warcry I think, not too shabby
I haven't uber twinked him yet either, he is still just using:
2x wiz spike
shako
+3warcry amulet with teleport charges :D
skin of viper
frostburn
waterwalk
that unique normal belt
two no name rings that are like 10% fcr and 1 resist

one thing I must say is that he needs good gear to survive as this build is very gear dependant, even more so then a hammerdin

some things I would like to get my hands on are
2xHOTO
Unique Spiderweb sash
2x soj
10x warcry GC

:D

then he would be unstopable in pvm!

btw stats are:
75 dex (for spikes)
107 str I think
rest into vit
none into energy

skills:
warcry and all its synergies maxed -- rest into Battle Orders
all combat skills except whirlwind/doubleswing/throw/frenzy
I like having a long range jump and berserk ^_^
1 iron skin/1 natural resist
the stamina and speed are wasted points imo

I accidently put 1 point into find potion
if I ever rebuild I will change just that!

btw you don't need any defense, shield really since warcry stun lasts a LOOONG time and since its mostly your main attack I doubt your stun would wear off in the .2 second it takes to cast the next one, you can even stun superuniques/champions/unique monsters sometimes, as I've stunned lister in hell before, just keep warcry'ing rapidly and you'll see.
the only thing to watch out for is archers and elemental casters, like gloams, those hurt, but even then you can just use taunt... too bad gloams physical attack drains all your mana though. and taunt doesn't work on unique gloams, so be sure to carry a lightning absorb item with you in act5 or act4 izual quests

Sure have changed WC from 1.09. How much mana do you have//what does your WC take for mana? Speed isn't a waste IMHO because of the +skill you'll have


I'm going to go on Open w/ Editor make 2 lvl 85 Barbs then use a mod that lets me get the uniuqes//runes I need then try 5 hell baals w/ each

rest in howl//taunt

2x wiz silweave and 80//20 split for stats (80% energy)

I still don't think shout is very useful since this is a pure singer, and run speed is very unimportant as well, for those wasted points you can invest in BO for more mana and life!

btw mana is very important I run out in 5-6 casts right now
I use 12 mana pots per baal run

I'm thinking enigma, sojs, silkweve, and a +3 warcry +mana amulet would be alot better for me
and then fill all the small charm spaces with +17 mana

(my mana is very low I don't know the exact number, 700 or something, and warcry slvl26 takes 40~ per cast and I think mana cost goes up 1 for each point it has

Was able to tele to Throne and dispatch the waves easly (except mana burn Achmel) but baal was impossible between mana drain attack thing and my casting (to took of my mana balls to kill the MoD)
