Sight-seeing in Dublin, Ireland. Ideas?

Hello all,

I'm over in Ireland at the moment working for a few days and will be getting a bit of time to myself tomorrow to go site seeing. So has anyone here visited Dublin recently or even live in Dublin?

What is there to see? Bear in mind i would like to see as much as possible in a short space of time and will be on foot!

Also i've heard 'Temple Bar' area is the place to go in the evenings but is there any particular bars or pubs which are good?

Any ideas would be welcome...

Thanks

Guiness factory. Trinity University with its on campus pub "The Pav". Jameson distillery. Wake up early and go to farmers market. (4am here = 10am there?) Temple Bar area is fun. St. Stephen's Green is nice. Check out Grafton St. It's been 5 years since I was over there so the memory is spotty.

I was in Dublin more recently and between my first visit and then it's turned crowded and full of tourists.

St Stephens Green is lovely, and St Stephens Mall is nice as is Grafton Street. The history museum is rather nice and got lots of stuff, the nature museum just got dead animals.

Don't book a cheap hotel. You're likely to have mould on the walls and a miserable shower. Book a 3 star hotel at least - I've seen the insides of both the Principal and the Trinity Capitol hotel and they're both good and in the town center, but not too far away from the bus to the airport.

Temple Bar is still a bit messy. I suppose it's great for going out, but it looks a bit dirty I thought.

Visit what's left of Castle Waller in Tipperary. It bellongs to a work mate of mine named Gerald Ryan.

Well as the song goes "it's a long way to Tipperary". I don't recall it being near Dublin.

Everything is close to everything on Ireland. Except Bantry.

No it isn't. It's also a long way from Enniskillen to Belleek, esp if you have to stop because you have a punctured tyre.
