Sick of poofing runes (just venting)!

Hi Folks,

This morning i had a Lo "poof" on me, and this isn't the first time. On the other hand..i also found a MAL !!!:laugh:

I'm getting a modest collection of legit HR's kept on a separate mule; however, 'm really getting frustrated about how many poofing runes i get. the Lo came about from finding a fire skiller.

I also know the response, either stop trading HR's and wait to build your own runewords, or wait to get runes and socket immediately. in this case, i was running out of room on my mules and HR's take less space than found stuff.

Anyhow's i'm finished, now i feel better (venting over)

Not even socketing them right away will save you. In season 2 I had a rune in an enigma poof, leaving me with an open socket and an armor with just mods from the other 2 runes.

 

Would have been pretty cool if the runeword bonus was still there, and you made a enigma with duperunes only (even ith), and then had them all poof so you could socket other stuff (maybe another RW) in it, almost like the "ith" items from 1.09 matrix hacks.

Of course, such a bug would encourage duping even more, and it would be unbalanced and stuff, but I just want to look at the screenshot and drool

 

Sometimes I Google up Iths and White rings just to remind myself of those great days.

I bet if you had a hex charm nowadays, people would pay you so much for it. Every dupe site on the net would want it.

 

Yeah, I just wish we could have +10 all skills small charms too, that would be swell.

 

Well I'm not saying the hacks made it more fun, but just that time period was so much cooler. Like dueling in 76 legit, those were awesome times.

 

After having a Cham and a jah poof on me I've decided that I'll only trade for runes I've got the fixins to do an immediate cube with.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure "up'ed" runes don't poof.

It's a theory, not really sure if it's true or just a myth.

 

I hope it's not just theory..... if so then all of my legit runes have been cubed and will poof just like the Lo that wasn't there when I just now booted up.......

Yesterday i got a perfect 4 soc AP, so i'll either make a coh or a hand held infinity with the ber. Not a bad day of PVM and PVP'ing. i found mal and HOZ today.

I'm amazed, I just came to check the forum after an absence of about an year, and it's like being in Twilight Zone reading this topic with people talking about dupes and hacks in this fashion and not having a legion of self-righteous preachers emerge from the depths of Ultra-Legit-Land to punish you!

does it happens often on ladder, i mean i trade is so risky, what's the use playing on ladder :s ?

 

I like the poofing of runes. That way people won't forget that they are dealing with dupes. It never happened to me so far, so it might sound a little hypocritic, but I already said elsewhere, if I had a "delete dupes" button on my desk, I would press it once per day, even if all my runewords will poof.

 

its better to trade high items for loads of lems, puls and ums imo
they dont tend to poof nearly as often

keep high runes on a mule, when you want to trade them, bring how many you need to another mule and trade from there, never bring hr mule to public games

Im that tired of duped runes poofing that my trade currency consists now entirely of self found organ sets or traded keys.

Trading legit gear for high runes on ladder is kinda like trading hard earned money for old wet newspaper...

 

do someone know the life span of a duplicated rune ? before it goes poof..
