    Shredding Dreams- a Thrower Pally

    Skills:

    20 Fanatacism
    20 Resist Lightning
    20 Holy Shield
    ...

    Stats:

    strength: enough for gear
dex: shooting for around 200 maybe?
    vit: everything else
    energy: ...

    Equipment:

    Weapon: Gimmershred
    Shield: Dream
Armor: Chains of Honor or fortitude?
helm: dream in crown (definitely coolest looking helm for paladin)
    gloves: LoH
    boots: gore riders
belt: razortail? verudungos? string of ear?
    ring: BK
    ring: Raven
    Ammy: Maras
    switch: 6 bo cta, lidless
    in inventory:
anni, ptorch, life sc's, demon limb and wisp projector (for enchant and how for more AR)

    Merc:

    Holy Freeze Merc
    wep: infinity
    armor: fortitude
    helm: dream

Merc will do insane damage physically and also with the 650 extra lightning damage coupled with conviction and the huge - to enemy lit res. Will no leech be a problem? or should i switch fortitude for CoH or dream for vamp. I just thought the dream/-lit res might work nicely.

This pally will use fanatascism as his main aura with conviction from his merc. Altogether should do about 7k-ish throw damage. I was thinking just maxing and using conv myself, but i thought fanat would better help my AR and speed, as well as phys damage, and just use conv on merc.

Okay, what do you think? what breakpoint fps will i hit with gimmershred, loH, and Fanat?(where can i go to figure that out myself?) what of my equipment choices?

-enemy light res from items only affects the bearer.

will dream on merc override the pulse dmg of your dream aura? Also, highlords or cats eye would be a better ammy to use. Maybe even dragon rw armor w/resist fire? dunno if that would help though.

lvl 12 conviciton is weak. max your convicition and make a faith merc for ultimate effectiveness.

check my Whateverdin guide for the build in the build guides.

    faith question:

how does reanimate as returned work? by that i mean, what is a returned and do they help at all?

    and also:

    i'm a thrower, so wouldn't i want a melee merc?

re-animate is cool as hell. is 10% of kills come back as a skelly that lasts about 30 seconds. they will do the blocking for you once they spawn. Also dragon on merc casts hydras that are quite effective at max conviction and privides merc an extra to theyre lightning res maximum which will keep them alive on lightning attacking monsters like gloams and souls.

I see. But will my merc be spawning enough returns to not have to be a tank herself

No. They run behind you when they are attacked. You will be the tank.

Then there would be no point in being a thrower if the monsters are just going to be in melee combat with me.

I have used glimshreeder when doing big D. You dont have to worry about IM and it is very effective. When bad guys attack you, you kill them by throwing axes. It works fine.

You should consider conviction for your aura as glimmershred does lots of elemental damage and conviction will really boost that.

    re:

You don't need to use Lidless, you can make a Spirit runeword out of a low str Pally shield.
