Should Set Items Return?

Set items are cool, I remember getting my first set item in D2 1.0. It was a death's sash and I used it till I beat normal because of the "cannot be frozen" mod. Unfortunately, by the time I found the sword and gloves(or whatever the other 2 pieces are) I was level 40 and had no use for them.

This was common for me, for all of us(?), and it was cool to complete a set, seeing all those item names on a list in green and seeing those set bonuses, but your paladin or barbarian was no longer lvl 3 when they would've been useful. So you're left with a backhanded sense of accomplishment, "good job!, too bad it doesn't mean anything!"

Now you can say "why not make a new character?" In D2 that was an option, a painful one, but we all did it, we all made a character to use that cool set just to see if it was worth it. I am guilty of making a polearm barb recently to use Hwannin's...

Alas, Diablo III will have respecs. So we no longer will need(or maybe with limitations we will not as much need) to make a new character if the one we made flops in nightmare or hell difficulties. This leaves less incentive for making a new character just to use a set. Why reroll a character to use a set since the one you have now is stuck, just respec him to something else and push forward.

Perhaps a cool way to impliment psuedo sets could be rares or uniques having synergies. Like your rare sword named "Cruel Slicer" will giveand recieve a bonus to your gloves named "Slicers Grips" because they both contain slicer... it's a thought. Or a Unique named "Wirts Leg" could give/recieve a bonus from your "Large pants of Roomy Comfort". Think about it...you could make your OWN set! Sadly, this would probably require A LOT of work because of all the possible combinations, but wouldn't it be sweet? Setless sets! Ah...to dream...
