    Should MSN Help Censor Blogs?

Apparently MSN (following the in the foot steps of Yahoo), has struck a deal with the Chinese government to censor blogs, with certain phrases (i.e. freedom", "democracy", "demonstration", etc.):

Don't worry, it won't work. The wall is crumbling. It will take take, but in 2 generations communism in China will be long gone.

I was torn... I chose Durf, because while I think BillG is horribly wrong for pandering to a totalitarian regime, I fervently hope his dreams of automation monopoly are trampled beneath the mighty flippers of the Linux penguin "Tux".

MSN being an american company should follow AMERICAN laws concerning freedom of speach. Even better they should relocate to canada then follow our laws.

Lets face it. China has potential to be a huge market, and microsfot being friendly with the gov't now is probably just a business thing. The MSN china site should obey chinese law, just like any other nation's site should obey the local laws. I dont think its fair, but thats more to do with tyhe great firewal of china than microsoft, who is just sticking to the rules and in the long term will probably benefit from this.

Chinese communism hasn't been real communism (as it was supposed to be) ever since 1979 (an arbitrary date, I know..... but that was when they started their economic reform, i.e. their interpretation of "capitalism").
