Definitely worth it. Since sorceresses only get 2 life per vit, you'd only lose about 50 life total in your case, which is no big deal. There's also the huge FHR and FCR on spirit.

I have lidless for as long as I can remember and when I made the switch to a spritit I was quite shocked how much of an improvement. +1 more to skill skill points means more damage, more added to cast rate can help break those breakpoints, plus it gives more points in resists then a pdiamond can give in a lidless, and +22 Vit helps give back those points you put into str.

you won't be getting dex for blocking using lidless/rhyme compared to spirit anyways
you can easily get 1000+ life with 150+ base strength for spirit even if you have crappy charms
remember that killing speed helps you MF because even though the unique/set chances may be lower you are killing monsters overall at a faster pace

Spirit.
If you want to go base strenght, Rhyme is an option. Though it doesn't have any FCR it gives 25 mf, 25 all res, cannot be frozen, mana regeneration etc. It's a good shield too but go for the Spirit.

How come people don't make Spirits out of lower str.req shields and use them on sorcs?

Aegis spirit is only good if you have Medusa gaze or similiar high str item at switch or use very high str armor. That 219 str is not that high with good anni/torch, lose maybe 50-100 life.
We do. There are only 3 optios for spirit shield (for sorc). Only these 3 can have 4 sockets, so feel free to pick up aegis or ward.
