    Shopping and Searching...woe is me.

    Hi everyone!

I'd like to start a poisonmancer soon, and I've given up trying to find a Death's Web. So, my next option is a "White" runeword.

    1. Does anyone have the link to the "Project White" thread? My search skills are lacking today.

    2. (Just in case I don't find this info in that thread) What would be the best level/place to shop a white +poison nova / posion explosion wand? I'm hitting up Normal Drognan with a level 19 character, and I haven't even seen poison nova on anything yet. Is my level too low to get that staffmod?

Thanks for the help, everyone, and have a great day!

    That what you're talking about?

EDIT: A quick scan through tells me it won't help. Might want to read it anyway though. ;).

EDIT 2: If you're looking for +3 Poison Nova... not sure if you can shop that (at least not easily).

May I suggest looking for a wand with +LR as well? since you are not going to max it (or are you?) and it could save you alot of points.

No clue on shopping though, but I would think that level 19 is a bit low for a tier 6 skill. This is just quesstimations, I have noooo idea
Good luck with the char, anyway.

edit: that was a good read
I've done a fair deal of shopping with a level 1 char at akara's, got some pretty nice rs/sm wands, luckily I didnt try to socket them

    1. When the forum crashed a ~year ago, about 14 months of threads were lost - it's possible that was one of them (from memory, that thread was in the 'right' timeframe to be lost). edit: or maybe not :p.

    2. Drognan has a limit of level18 skills, so no Poison Nova from him (he can give you poison explosion though). I think you'll have to find the PN wand through normal monster-killing.

    Superior Petrified Wand
    One Hand Damage: 8 - 24
    Durability: 7 of 15
    Required Level: 30
    Required Strength: 25
    Fingerprint: 0xc41b77fd
    Item Level: 82
    Version: Expansion 1.10+
    Properties:
    +3 to Attack Rating
+1 to Poison Explosion (Necromancer Only)
+2 to Poison Nova (Necromancer Only)

... would be free. I have a +3 PN (only) 'White' which I'm sure we can come to a deal on. Make a thread in the SPTF if you are interested.

I think by the time Tier 6 skills are available, all items are blue, but this is from memory not checked facts.

QFT, and IIRC on top of that, PN wands can't be shopped.

    Bad news:

there is nowhere you can buy a white item, or gray item with a high enough ilvl to get into that tier 5.

So you have to find the wand you want. good news is you can run normal cows or act 1 NM or better to find it, just run somewhere you get ilvl 37+ with no MF on and look at every white or gray wand that drops, until you get a +3 Pnova wand.

Re: Shopping and Searching...woe is me.

I found this wand and made it into a White wand and used it before finally finding a DW.

    White
    Grim Wand
    'DolIo'
    One-Hand Damage: 5 to 11
    Durability: 15 of 15
    Required Level: 35
Staff Class - Normal Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
    Item Level: 86
    Fingerprint: 0x18c1f4b3
    +10 to Vitality
    +13 to Mana
    Magic Damage Reduced by 4
    20% Faster Cast Rate
+3 to Bone Armor (Necromancer Only)
+3 to Poison Nova (Necromancer Only)+2 to Bone Spear (Necromancer Only)
+3 to Revive (Necromancer Only)+4 to Skeleton Mastery (Necromancer Only)
Hit Causes Monster to Flee 25%
    150% Damage to Undead
+3 to Poison and Bone Skills (Necromancer Only)
    Socketed (2: 2 used)

Works pretty well for the cost for sure.

Re: Shopping and Searching...woe is me.

I've been dreaming of a +3/+3/+3 Poison Nova, Lower Resist, Revive wand. That'd be all kinds of awesome.

The best White wand I have is a +3 Bone Spear, +1 Clay Golem. Pretty meh.

Re: Shopping and Searching...woe is me.

    Thanks for the insight, everybody!

I guess this means I can quit shopping. Thank goodness! I'm going to start running NM cows with my javazon on P8 in search of my dream wand. Meanwhile...

@ maxicek: I would definitely love that wand. Look for a trade thread around Monday.

@ zafen: Great idea about LR!

Re: Shopping and Searching...woe is me.

Blackbog's sharp (dagger, +4PNova) isn't half bad for poisonmancers either, iirc. And a lil less painful to get than a perfect white wand. Actually it doesn't make a big difference whether you got +4 or +6 nova on your weapon, the -res from death's web would up your killspeed some, but if you don't want to do a million runs with with the mancer... If it takes you one hour to get the death's web the time the faster kill speed saves you in going through the game will be less than what it took you to get it...
