Some sets give the user that glow, when complete set is equipped (like Tal Rasha set, Immortal King, M'avinas).

Also note that Necromancers turn into Vampires when they wear full Trang-oul's set.

This did not happen in v1.09, only in v1.10. Some sets got greatly improved bonuses too.

Sassy gets fade, not the skill, just the look.
I have never seen a paladin's aura, never found the Set Septer.

aldurs (druid) - shiny aura
mavs (zon) - shiny aura
tals (sorc) - shiny aura
IK (barb) - shiny aura
gris (pally) - shiny aura
nats (sin) - translucent thing
trangs (necro) - vampire thing

^^ correct me if i'm wrong.

I guess the paladin set is not much good as you NEVER see a shiny Paladin!

If I ever get the Griz Set Septer I will have to run around some Baal runs and let people call me a Noob. Maybe I will get what ever other gear needed and max. the killing power of the char so he can actually be playable.

Anyone want to donate the Septer? NL I think as I have more gear there to help make the guy viable.

The grisword set is very good actually. The scepter is actually easier to find than the shield. The vortex shield is valued higher because it's the rarest piece just like how the armor in the ik set is valued higher.

The Grisword set is mainly used for melee pallys. It has a lot of possibilities because all the pieces in the set are socketed.

The full Griswold set makes a nice set of equipment for a Tesladin because of its many sockets. Just stick lightning facets in.

The Gris scepter is widely used by wereform druids/barbs, because of its speed. My Wolfbarb uses one with 4 shael runes for a 4 fpa attack speed.

That's way too expensive for a tesladin. You have to have the crescent moon runeword. That's instantly -35% light resist as opposed to 4 socketed perfect light sockets that would only be -20%. That's a big waste imo.

Well then...there goes my hope of getting one cheap. O well.

Edit... I put up a trade thread for it and offered Zon Set Helm and Trang Belt. Maybe I can get one now that I have been educated!

You mustn't forget about the set bonuses that the Gris weapon gives and that the whole set gives. If you only needed sockets, then you might as well just use a plain 4-socket armor/shield.

And that's not too expensive at all for a PvP character.

Wrong, I've found 10+ set vortex shields, but only one caddy.
One thing is true about the Gris set tho, it's the hardest set to complete.

...That's your own experience, doesn't mean jack for the entire population of D2.
I've found 2x SOJ, but never a Rising Sun, does that mean the ammy is harder to find than SOJ???
Fact is, they are about the same rarity, just checked ATMA.

Actually I think griswold set is the best full set you can get, with my lvl 29 charger I dare to hostile full tal sorc, full mavina, full ik, full aldurs as for most of them I can defeat :)
full griwolds are to hard to defeat :)
never seen a full nat..

yeah, my bear sorc uses one with 3x shael, 1x ias/res jewel to hit 5fpa. the only other option is some crazy shael/jewel phase blade and im not spending that much dex. =O the phys damage is also way better.

I have all the Nat set pieces but got bored before my sassy got high enough to put it all on. i have 2 of the claws by the way so i'm sure if i ever do get around to leveling her she might be worth while

edit looking at the nat sset just now i see it is probably best to leave one of her tucs on her instaed of 2 claws becuase the set doesn't have any extra bonuses on the individual items

Nat's is probably most poorly thought out of the complete sets giving such crappy boots for kicksins.

Griz' would be nowhere near as cool without the 11-12 sockets. You can put a LOT of ED Jewels on that thing.
