Several Questions from an Oldy/Newby
I started playing Diablo after a break of several years. Amazing that it is still this good. Obviously a lot has changed. I am playing solo right now, but upgraded to 1.10 via Battlenet.
OK, here are the questions, and thanks in advance. I have read a lot of the reference material and haven't seen these answered.
Q1. "Enhanced" - please define; examples follow
The shield says "chance to block = 40%", followed by "10% increased chance of blocking". Does this mean the 10% increase is already built into the 40%, or that the actual blocking percent is 44%, i.e. 40% + 10% of 40%? (I know there are lots of other modifiers; I'm just interested in the shield itself.)
This happens a lot, i.e swords that say Defense=4, "19% enhanced defense";
does the sword add 4 to defense, or 4+19% of something?
Q2. I'm lost on mercs. Is there a way to see more detail in terms of their
ability than on the hiring screen. People are talking about buying them armor but I don't see where or how I can do that. At this point they are mostly cannon fodder to me, so I must be missing something.
Q3. What do the descriptors "defense", "combat" etc mean on the hiring screen for mercs. I must have missed a page in the FAQ, sorry.
Q4. This is for fun -- "Monster Talk"
I love listening to the little devilkin guys -- they are freakin hilarious.
Has anyone done a page on what they are saying? Their mannerisms
while screaming out "RashaNeeshio!" or "Gallenzo!", "mmmmBaybee" -- too
funny. Just wondered if anyone had more insight into this.
