Serpent lord for whirlwind barbs?

I was thinking, since whirlwind barbs are the only class that do high physical damage, and use up a lot of mana, how would it be with a serpent lord long staff on switch? At least for low levels? Whirlwind, whirlwind, switch, leech back mana, switch, whirlwind, whirlwind etc. There must be some use for that staff.

While the 100% mana steal may seem interesting at first, keep in mind that the damage done is really low so you aren't actually getting as much mana back as you might think. 100% of 10 damage is going to be the same as 10% with 100 damage. I guess it could be ok if it was upgraded or if you had no other source of mana steal. But then again that would mean that you would miss out on having BO weapons on switch.

The premise doesn't make any kind of sense. There are multiple character builds that do high physical damage, and for physical attack builds the easiest way to solve mana problems is getting mana steal somewhere on your gear (not on a switch).

This is the only high physical damage build that requires alot of mana I said.
