Seriously?

Why are people so stupid in this game?

I know people are stupid everywhere, but it seems like i run into them more often than not on D2. Just now someone tried to steal my eth treks. A person came in who "wanted help with a transfer." He opened up a trade screen asking what i was using and i did, one of them being my treks. He said he wanted to transfer a torch and an anni and i told him he could just drop them somewhere and come back for them because i'll be just doing mephisto runs. He was like "No, i'd prefer it if you held them," which is fine if you're that trusting, and really, i'm not one of those guys that would steal other peoples gear. I don't want to be that kind of guy.

He tells me to follow him into the building in act 2 where Atma and Geglash and stand in the corner closest to where the tp's would be. Then he says he's going to drop his items and wanted me to drop my treks to know he could trust me. At that point i just left. I sort of remembered a similar way for people to steal stuff like that when i last played so i didn't want to risk my boots getting stolen even if he couldn't get them.

I just think it's funny how stupid people can be sometimes. Of course he wanted me to drop my treks, my most expensive gear on my sorc. You go from wanting me to hold your items to about to drop your items for transfering? I probably should have asked him to drop his torch and anni or something but oh well.

Anyone else have stories like this?

Oh I remember being a noob (not saying you are by any means) many many years ago. I got screwed by that exact same A2 grab trick at one point, got body popped once, almost lost items due to the rouge encampment teleport trick, been pked in hardcore, all the goodies.

I never believe anyone.

So, I'm pretty much impervious to that example.

I've had people try to trade me the "gemmed" dusk shroud enough times to make me entirely give up on bnet trading.

Bnet is where I learned that the average Bnet kiddie is pretty much a sociopath.

Yeah it wasn't even like i looked for a trade or to help that guy either. I always do something like "dsfgseg" if i'm doing runs and that guy comes in and asks me to help transfer. I was just minding my own business. If you're going to transfer just make your own game or something.

Then there's those people that come in your trade games and laugh at what your asking for . But that's another story for another day.

You guys are missing out on the fun of following the same people to the next game they go to & harassing them. :/

Protips:
1. Don't trust anyone you've know less than a month, and be wary of those you have known longer, too.
2. If a deal's too good to be true, it is.
3. Don't put people on your friend list, add them to your aim buddy list or something. This avoids in game spam and people randomly popping into your private games without asking permission.

I only play for fun.
And free gold and insults lvl9 and below in hell level join mules are the best.
