Seriously in need of some better gear

All right, so I'm basically a noob at Diablo but I've managed to make a level 75 lightning sorc. I got a Lem from the NM Hellforge, which I traded for frostburns and 14 pgems, but other than that I'm basically broke and am just using items I've found.

Here's my current stuff:

Helm: Rare Crown w/some low resists
Armor: Faithful Ancients armor (440ish def)
Belt: Magic belt with 73 def and +26 life
Weapon: Rare globe with +3 lightning and a bunch of other mods
Switch: +2 lightning skills staff
Shield: Steelclash
Gloves: Frostburns
Boots: Some rare or magic boots, I don't really know
Ring: +87 mana and something else
Other Ring: 10% fcr and something else
Amulet: Crafted with 9% fcr, +15ish resists and some other stuff

Stats

Strength - 110
Dex - base
Vitality - 200
Energy - 110ish

Skills

Lightning - 20
Chain Lightning - 20
Lightning Mastery - 20
Charged Bolt - 17
Static - 1
Nova - 2
Warmth - 1
Frozen Armor - 1
Teleport - 1
Telekinesis - 1

My resists in Hell are all at about -30 :thumbsdown:, and I'm dying really often if I'm not careful. I do about 5k lightning and 2.5k CL damage or so.

So basically, I could really use some resists, FCR, and +skills, but I only have about 20 pgems. I was thinking about rushing some people through nightmarefor the Hellforge, but then I realized that one of the Ancients is lightning immune and I'd kind of be screwed.

Anyway, any suggestions?

Run something until you get better gear. NM Andy and Meph in one game is pretty good place to start (just NM Meph if you're single player).

I agree with PlasmaTorture, just start mfing at nm meph~! he drops pretty good things. one thing I would also suggest is run nm countess, she drops decent runes, there are some runewords that are pretty good even with low runes, stealth is one of them. I wanted to say is only tal and eth, surely you can get those runes easily.

I agree mf in nm for some better gear, also for hell you'll want to level some more.

Some cheap gear to look/trade for:

Helm: peasants crown, 3os helm fill it with p topazs for mf
Armor: vipermagi or 4os armor fill it with p topazs for mf
Belt: nightsmoke, goldwrap (upped) for mf
Weapon: Spirit runeword in a broad or crystal sword, occy
Shield: Spirit monarch (you'll need 156 strength for this but well worth it)
Gloves: magefists for fcr, chance guards for mf
Boots: Shop some mf boots (i usually get mine from Anya in a5 but you can get them from anyone that sells boots), silkweaves if you need the mana
Rings: nagels for mf
Ammy: +sorc skill with resists/mf, tals

For merc:

Helm: Tals, vamp gaze, crown of thieves
Armor: Duriels shell
Weapon: Insight runeword in a thresher, cryptic axe, colossus voulge (needs 210 str to use). You can use a non elite polearm for this runeword until you get an elite.
