1) This is not a trading forum; this is a price-check forum.

2) You're better off identifying it, because I don't expect anyone will buy it. There's a higher chance of it being worthless than being any good.

^ Actually there is quite a market for UNID goods, I'm a fan too :)

I'd keep a great item of the same type in my bags (easy if it was a ring) and act like I had won the lottery after buying an UNID'd one just to see the reaction I'd get.

Buy UNID ring for 250k and ID it
Respond with "OMFG *Link Item* wooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!"
Seller: ".............%$#@"

Except that wouldn't have worked on me because I already thought of that possibility that someone would likely do that just to make it seem like I had made a bad deal. Well, no one was wanting my ring so I ided it and it turned out to be total crap so I salvaged it.

Yeah I would think that would be a common troll however it really shouldn't effect anything. It's just gambling, of course it's possible the ring will be godlike but 199/200 rings will not be godlike.

I saw a reddit post of a guy who crafted some insane number of 6-prop gloves like 800 or something? He recorded everything, and he said based on his sample size the chance of making "perfect gloves (gloves in which all 6 props where useful)" was about 1/30,000. Hardly definitive or a large enough sample size. But it might shed some light on how profitable UNID gambling is.

Well, there is one other thing to consider on UNID items. Some people, not myself, have been promoting the idea of a program that would tell you the actual hidden roll value of UNID items. Now, I am not a hacker, so I have no clue how true this is, but if it were possible that this is true then there are some folks who would have a very unfair advantage in selling UNID items.

My last thought on UNID items is to just ID them. Legendaries wont be getting buffed for a bit and set pieces I think are slated to remain the same. So worst case scenario is you get crapola and DE it something remotely useful.

I'm pretty sure even if the stats are determined when the item drops, they are stored server-side so there wouldn't be any client data regarding this.

If any of your gears information is hidden on your computer, even if it's encrypted then it would be possible to decode. I thought the whole point of having this game internet only was to prevent this sort of stuff though. It does make me annoyed if this is going on.

Even if they did store the info, if the encryption was any good no one would be able to gain access to the information. I would be disappointed if they didn't encrypt that **** with some kind of really good encryption scheme.
