Secret Cow Level and Exp points?

I haven't played D2 in about a year but I recall a quick way to level up was to play the Secret Cow Level over and over and over. Playing it today (normal skill) I noticed I wasn't gaining much if any Exp. points. Has Bliz. changed something where you only get Exp. points for the kills you make?

When I am in a party anywhere else in the game Exp. gains are shared. Insight?

As of patch 1.10, you only gain exp at lvl 20. You only gain exp from party if you are in same area, not in catacombs or other acts...

That would make lvling from 1 to 20 rather hard

Below Clvl 25 Cows are not a fast way to lvl, because of the stricter Clvl<Mlvl penalties. When in a party you only gain exp from a kill when it is made by a player within your spawn radius (3 screens left to right, and top to bottom) IIRC.

1st part, trist runs from lvl1 to lvl 14. , 15-20 tombs. prob solved

2nd, in full 8 players games, lvl20 to lvl 24 in 3 runs if near cow killer(s),it's possible. I forgot all about the exp radius lol

I still find it very profitable to join cow runs to get from 20 to 25. Sometimes I start at 19, but 19->20 is really slow in cows.

Maybe cows isn't the ideal area "by the book", but you usually get a full game with a high level char clearing the thing very quickly, which makes up for some loss in exp. And nobody expects you to do anything.
