How goes Piff? You still at Gettysburg, or have you moved on? I can never remember these kind of time frames.

Yup, I'm still at Gettysburg for three more semesters after this one. Well, two, really. I'm spending one of the in Aix-en-Provence. Good to see that a lot of you are still around.

Well a few do lack the balls to also leave but they will hopefully build up the courage soon enough.

What so since we post at more than one forum we're traitors? Maybe it's just that the OTF isn't anywhere near as interesting as it once was. Maybe what kept me here for years after I stopped playing crowbar was the people. I post on the forum that shall go unmentioned because I missed them, wanted to stay in touch with them, not because I have some burning vendetta against this site.

No doubt, if I take the plunge, and buy D3, I'll pop back again, but I doubt it'll ever be the same.

I don't agree with some of the calls they made, but the powers that be had a choice to make and they chased a lot of their supporters away. That was their call, based on their priorities. That's probably why we see all these ads all over. It's too bad. Perhaps time will settle things. If not, well, they did what they had to do. I don't run the site, it's not my call.

I will however take this moment to voice my distaste for the pettiness of your post. If you want to be a jerk to those that can't post to defend themselves, fine, that just makes you look like a jerk. But don't chase away the last of the old timers that still float around. The rule thread says not to post links to other forums, not that you aren't allowed to post anywhere else.

No it's just that some people hold on to the same ideals as the ones who actualy did storm out in a hissy fit but because they don't dare to do the same thing they just hang around here instead complaining about the great injustice and how this place will never recover from the massive blow to the community, then they go to the other forum and complain about the things that happen in this place, further reducing that forum into a diabloiii sub forum for disgruntled members rather than the independant forum it's trying to be.

Who told you disgruntled is a sub?

Hey piff, great to see you. In answer to your question, hardly any.

Re: *scratches head*

So where do you stand?
I wish the community on the other forum could just tell people to shut the **** up everytime they start a new thread about this place because it makes it harder for the other forum to form it's own community and it ruins the atmosphere and adds to the sadly very bitter and paranoid environment the forum has been building lately. Then there's the "RIP" crap in the locations. Sure Toader and Bort I can buy because both had very questionable surroundings. Smeg got himself a justified ban in the singleplayer forum but I let that one slide because alot of people don't know that, but when people mourn the "kamikaze crowd" it takes away alot of credibility from their statement because that crowd where not some casualties of wayward modding but rather very well earned bans which is what they intended too, but let's not pretend that they where innocent victims.

The other forum is nice but it's so bitter that I'm hesitant to post there as half the content seems to be "hey look what diabloiii is up to now!" and the rest is porn, and about porn. Porn is great and all but the last thing you want to see is what middle aged internet users stroke it too. It doesn't matter how good the content is. It's tarnished.

Johnny makes good points about the fugitives sentiments and what they should and should not do. He overlooks the possibility that many of them are still tied to this place, or what they thought it should stand for, and cannot mentally let go - partially because they still hang with the same people who they thought to make this particular forum what they liked. It's like living in a house where your spouse died, you just can't let go of the memories.

Even so, Johnny's advice remains sound.

Do you extend that "spoiled goods" -attitude to live women as well?

Honestly, though, I don't get the social and chatty aspect about the porn. I don't know as I haven't dabbled with it, but I somehow imagined it to be a thing that is beyond that "wanna trade?" -phenomenon. Kind of like comparing turds.
