SC and GC question

Ok so the other day im talking to a zon who seems like an experienced old timer and had some sweet GG gear. I tell him im carring 3Bow and 3 Passive GC's... and some various poison and Resist SC's.

He immediately tells me that I need to ditch my GC's and load my butt up with the +3dmg, 14Ar SC's.....

Now before i start trading my HR's for Ar SCs, should I do this?

Re: SC and GC question

If your attack is physical form (multi, strafe...), you don't benefit much from bow skillers. The passive is ok because it will give you higher level of passive skills (penetration, valk.....). Damage/AR charms will increase your damage more since they will be amplified by other non-weapon ED% (fana aura, dex, fortitute.....). Yes, take out those bow skillers and replace them with max/ar/life charms :)

The only build uses bow skiller is FA build (more skill = more cold damage).

I would say if this is a pvp char, than go for it. If not I wouldn't spend my HR's on max/ar small charms if I were you.

Imo you should throw out those passive skillers alongside the bowskillers. Max damage is the way to go for a physical damage bowazon.

Not that I don't agree with you gg amazon friend, though.
You can get 3max damage/20 ar in combination with other nice mods like life, frw...

Anyway, as said, ditch them. You can get much better charms.

silly question

is it possible to get + Min dmg and + Max dmg on charms?

or is that not worth it?

Re: SC and GC question

Have a look at the arreat summit. +1 min damage on small charms are rlvl 90.

It's possible though it doesn't offer much. On the other hand, max/ar with an additional max mods are used.

Ok So with this new info, me, a Strafe/GA zon will now ditch my GC's in bow and load up on the +ar type SCs.

an inventory full of fine scs will double your damage or so. max/ar gcs are just as good offensively and cheaper though, don't just use scs. Plus it's faster moving your inventory around. I think perfect is 14 max gc (quality suffix) but those are going to cost a lot.

I don't see any reason for using +3 max damage/whatever SCs, when GCs with +10max (sharp prefix) are quite common - I have multiple of these self-found.

Bow skillers are good for elemental skills rather than physical, since Strafe receives a very small damage increase, while MS only gets additional arrow up to a certain limit (~22, not sure exactly). Keeps those if you're a magezon, otherwise put them aside.

Passive skillers are imo nice for any bowazon, esp. when maxing two main attack skills. Improved Critical Strike, Pierce, as well as other passives are well worth it. If you place multiple hard-points in those respective skills, the skillers loose their value (because of the diminishing returns of Crit., Pierce, and D/A/E), and you might be better of with +damage charms. It all depends on how much effort you are about to put into optimizing your character.

I'd go with 1-2 p-skillers and some +9-10 GCs, keeping those SCs for resists, as you probably need them :wink3:
