Say Hello to Patriarch Christopher ll

Well, I did it! My first 1.10 Pat! It feels good. I had a few in 1.09, but that was quite a bit of time ago. It has been a long time coming. I don't get to play everyday so it has taken longer than I would have liked. My Barbarian is a conc/beserk and I had fun taking him through hell during the last couple of weeks. He has the following gear:

IK Helm(2 Ptopaz), belt, gloves, maul (2 shaels), and boots. Used Duriels Shell armor. Weapon switch was 2 dagger class weapons with a total of +5 to warcrys.

Here are his stats (fully buffed stats, after items, weapon, etc... follow the slash):

Character type : Barbarian
Character level : 82

Strength : 164/250
Energy : 11
Dexterity : 132/152
Vitality : 198

Life was 1309 normal, after BO it was 2578

Life : 1309 / 2578

Conc: level 24
Beserk level 23
BC-7/12
shout-6/11
BO-20/25---25 gives 107% life and lasts for 295 seconds.

Resists: fire: 54, cold:72, lit:57, poison:26

Damage is as follows: conc: 2542-4203 & beserk: 2900-4699

I had a little trouble dealing with the monsters in the WSK last night, so I quit and began again tonight. The knights (forget their names) spawned extra fast, stone skin, spectral hit. I cleared the area without too much trouble. My lack of poison resist hurt. I kept having to down antidote potions and life dwindled pretty fast. Had to go back to town continually to heal and stock on potions. I went through about 25 or 30 rejuv potions. Had only 4 left when it was Baals turn. Bartuc and Lister were not too tough. Had to separate them to get them all without going through too much life/potions. They hit hard, and life dwindled down fast. Baal is always a let down after his minions. He just has a lot of hit points. His attacks aren't too tough to withstand though.

During the trip, I kept losing life fast because of the lack of sheild. At about level 50, I decided to pump life. I added all 5 attribute points into life for about 5 or 7 levels, maybe more. I forget now. Then began to spread them out again.

Thanks to everyone here who gave advice along the way. It was fun! :winner:
:drink: :drink:

EDIT: oops, forgot to say that you probably notice that this is Christopher the second. Christopher the first was a 1.09 character who couldn't kill in 1.10 hell. So I decided to keep the name. It is my sons name. He is 5 years old. He watches me kill monsters all the time. :)

'grats on the pat

I agree that Baal is somewhat of a letdown after what you have to do to get to him...

awesome grats! barbs are a lot of fun if you can get them to work in 1.10. so now its the standard question time... whats next?

baal isn't a surprise though when you think about it, the eldest brother mephisto is the butt of most jokes and since D's lightning doesn't hit at close range now he is pretty easy himself (especially after de suis and the rest of the CS)

Energy : 11
 Do you know that I am so obsessive-compulsive with my characters that if I fouled up on even one stat point, like allocating it to Energy when it was supposed to have gont to Vitality, I would restart my character. Then again, that's probably why I've never had a Pat, 1.10 or otherwise! :p So props to you and your accomplishment!

Congrats on the Pat! What's next?

I really like the name of your Barb (and your son of course). Hmm, might have something to do with the fact that it's my name, too...

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the late reply. I have been out of town from the time I posted this until now.

Wolfgang: I don't remember giving that 1 point to energy. I obviously did at some point. But it wasn't enough of a foul up to make me restart the character. It takes me so long to finish a game that I can't afford to restart. :)

Hourn: It is a great name. My next character has to be a female so I can name it after my daughter.

I may go with a zon. I have to read the guides. What kind of zon is the most fun?

Thanks everyone!
